Description

This peaceful eco-house is tucked away in glorious woodland, making it the perfect place for couples to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For a truly memorable experience, embark on scenic hikes along well-trodden trails like the Torrent Walk (2 miles), Precipice Walk (5 miles), Mawddach Trail (6.5 miles), and Cader Idris (7 miles), all providing a captivating blend of unspoiled charm and natural beauty. Immerse yourself in Dolgellau’s (3 miles) rich history by wandering around its quaint independent shops and grabbing a bite to eat at a cosy cafe. Time it right, and you may experience its annual lively folk festival. For a day of sunbathing and hopping over waves, visit Barmouth Beach (13 miles), where you’ll discover one of Snowdonia’s most popular seaside resorts with its mix of sand and shingle shore and crystal waters for aquatic adventures.

Follow the long driveway and instantly feel the stress fall away as you approach this quirky, completely off-grid hideaway - even the electricity is from a generator. Open the original door, lift the latch, and explore the creatively designed kitchen on the ground floor. This perfectly appointed kitchen boasts all the essentials for whipping up Welsh rarebits or experimenting with the ingredients you sourced on your travels. Upstairs, the open-plan lounge/diner is the ideal setting for a romantic meal for two or for unwinding in front of the wood burner with the Smart TV. Above, the open-plan bedroom overlooks the lovely lounge area and provides attractive decor with a super-king-size bed. Enjoy a rejuvenating shower in the ground-floor shower room in the morning.

Surrounding this charming home are 3 acres of magical woodland with streams, a Roman bridge, and an abundance of visiting wildlife. Stunning mountain views can be seen while you drink your first coffee of the day, while the evenings are ideally set up for cosy chats around the fire pit or tipples underneath glowing starlight. Parking is available for 2 cars, and the property boasts handy storage for bikes and paddleboards.

Reviews

A magical woodland retreat that was everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommended as a get away, or as a base for local exploring. The cottage is deep in the woods, so be ready for the drive along woodland tracks, but this very much adds to the charm and the feeling of seclusion. For two people (and dog) we could not have been more comfortable. Many thanks

Mr P,

Beautiful property we’ll laid out with everything you need, amazing views and walks loved our week there

Mr J,

We had the most wonderful stay, completely private, gorgeous walking. I don't think I could find any fault, the cottage was wonderfully stocked with all you could need. We walked for miles each day and rarely saw anyone, so absolutely perfect for people who want to have a complete detox from people or those with a reactive dog. Will definitely recommend but also will come back again if we chose to stay in the same area of Wales again. Fantastic holiday!

Miss H,

Lovely place with lovely views. You really feel away from it all. Property was clean and tidy with all mod cons. Town 15 mins down the road.
