Coastal Cottage Holidays

How do you holiday by the sea? Are you a traditional ‘fish and chips after arcades and ice cream’ person, or a ‘remote beach walks at sunrise’ person - perhaps you’re a bit of both? However you choose to spend your time by the coast, we have a coastal holiday cottage for you.

Wake up to a gorgeous sea view, enjoy al fresco dining overlooking a bay, relax in style in one of our luxury coastal cottages, the choice is yours! With over 5,000 miles of coastline across England and Wales, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to picking the perfect coastal spot for your next break, but that’s why we’re here to help you choose the perfect seaside location for you and your guests.

Starting in the South West, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset are home to some of England’s best coastal beauty spots. Cornwall has a circular coastline and with all those miles comes a lot of variety: mighty waves in the north, art and adventure in the west and a network of picturesque rivers along the Helford in the south. Devon is also a great destination for surfers and thrill seekers, while the stretch of the East Devon coast that runs into Dorset is truly breath-taking. In Dorset you’ll be greeted by ancient rock features like Durdle Door and Old Harry Rocks that will transport you to another world altogether.

For more dramatic rock formations and ancient coastal paths, head to Kent where you’ll be greeted by Britain’s iconic white cliffs, with a few quirky seaside towns and traditional resorts thrown in for good measure. Just across the way you’ll find scenic Sussex, a region dotted by a combination of fun, vibrant towns like Brighton and stunning nature-filled beaches like Camber Sands.

Travel a little further north and you’ll find the beaches of East Anglia a dream. In Suffolk, you can expect to saunter along the sandy shores of Southwold and Aldeburgh in the summer sunshine or chilly breeze of the colder months. In Norfolk, you can explore the tranquil Holkham Estate one day, enjoy a boat trip to see the seals of Blakeney the next and be on a rollercoaster in Great Yarmouth after that, all while enjoying tasty treats and family fun.

Take your holiday even further north and discover the Viking beaches of Northumberland and the Gothic, brooding shores of the Yorkshire coast. Not quite as sinister as they sound, these North Sea facing shores offer up some of the best coastal walks in the country, as well as plenty of fun in the sun during the summer holidays. If you’re with family, enjoy the arcades and donkey rides on offer in Whitby and Scarborough, or the castles and sites of Northumberland to your heart’s desire.

With a coastal National Park and several Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Wales is also a tremendous choice for a coastal retreat. If your dog fancies a Welsh adventure, or any coastal trip for that matter, then do check out our range of pet-friendly accommodation by the sea. We also have a range of family-friendly homes, cottages for larger groups and romantic retreats scattered across the nation’s coast, so you can pick a seaside home tailored just for you. So get browsing, booking and start looking forward to your next sea break with us!
