Description

Apartment 4 Pixies Holt is a cosy second floor property (one of several similar style apartments) just off East Looe's historic shopping streets and a stone's throw from the beach, pier and harbour. It is conveniently located on the main thoroughfare with the added bonus of lovely views of the harbour and over to West Looe. From the harbour there are speed boat rides, coastal cruises, glass bottom boat excursions and fishing trips available to book, and visitors may enjoy crabbing directly off the quay. Just across the water - walkable across the bridge or via boat taxi (tide permitting) - you will find the quieter side with a few more shops, cafes and pubs, as well as scenic Hannafore with its rock pool beach and stunning views across to St. George's Island. Looe is a 5 minute drive, or a beautiful coastal walk away, from its neighbouring fishing village Polperro with its small beach, cafes, inns and acclaimed restaurants. The Eden Project is about 40 minutes by car, and the Cornish city of Truro just over an hour away. The apartment is accessed just off the street via some steps leading to a communal hallway and a further standard flight of stairs leading to the front door. The accommodation is laid out on one level once inside and has been decorated to a good standard, retaining much character. Compact and comfortable it offers a great holiday base with an open plan lounge/diner and kitchen. There is also a modern fitted shower room with underfloor heating and double bedroom.

Reviews

Lovely view of the harbour in the heart of Looe.

Ms M,

For 3 days of my stay, the apartment below had replacement windows fitted which was very noisy with electric saws, hammer drills etc. I phoned to find out what to do as all i wanted qas some peace and was told you could do nothing until you'd got hold of the property owner. I never received any communication back which leaves me very disappointed. The break was spoiled as the apartment was very well appointed and in a good location.

Mr David P,

Info stated apartment had a washer/dryer but no drying function on appliance.

Mr Stephen T,

Another year at Pixie Holt and we had a lovely relaxing week again, looking forward to returning next year.

Previous Customer,

Had a lovely stay and enjoyed the flat. Used as a base and travelled about.

Mr Richard H,

We will definitely visit again and it was priced amazingly! Lovely time here, was great for my work placement, I felt very at home!!!

Abigail L,

Location

The town of Looe has charming narrow streets leading down to a picturesque harbour, and is split into East and West Looe by the river that runs through it, and on down to the beach.  Looe's sandy beach has a little cafe where you can linger over a cup of coffee while people-watching or admiring the view.

There are a number of lovely cafes, as well as restaurants and pubs to choose from, making this a great destination for the foodies among you.  You will have the opportunity to buy freshly-caught fish from the market on the quay, or if you fancy it, go out on a fishing trip to have a go at catching your own!

If you don't fancy fishing, a good alternative boat trip is to Looe Island, where you can find some lovely examples of rare plants, and spot plenty of wildlife, including grey seals and seabirds.  Looe Marine Conservation Group can give you more information about the island and its wildlife.

Looe is said to be a wonderful place to enjoy the New Year festivities, a time when many happy party-goers in fancy dress descend upon the town to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a magnificent display of fireworks.
