Description

Matlock town, just 2 miles away has a lovely collection of shops and cafes, which continue towards Matlock Bath on Dale Road, where there is a great selection of restaurants, unique shops and antique stores. Following the River Derwent, you can continue to Matlock Bath, with a vibrant seaside feel, arcades and lots of places to eat. Head up by cable cars and take a trip to the Heights of Abraham. For a taste of industrial heritage, visit Cromford (4.5 miles), home to the historic Cromford Mill and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Learn about the pioneering work of Sir Richard Arkwright and explore the picturesque village nestled along the banks of the river. Further out, but not far away, Haddon Hall with its magnificent gardens sits just 5 miles away and Chatsworth House is 7 miles, with its magnificent architecture, world-renowned art collections, and sprawling gardens.

The single-storey property is a wonderful blend of large rooms, beautiful design, and great facilities, which are inclusive of larger doors and a wet room. The open design in the kitchen creates a bright area with views across the extensive garden at the back. There is also a dining room and a lovely conservatory for you to enjoy. The living room has views out to the front, with lots of seating available and a wood burner for those cosy evenings. There is such a beautiful, serene feeling here, with accents of nature inside and amazing views over the valley outside. All the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and each room offers a large space, with lovely views and stunning design touches. The bedrooms can be enjoyed as three super-king-size rooms, or there is an option of two of the rooms being made into family rooms with single Z-beds, accommodating up to eight people. There is a family bathroom, with a shower attachment on the bath, and completing this property is a wet room.

Outside, there is a large enclosed garden with countryside at the back and wonderful open views to the front, so you feel truly immersed in nature. Comfortable seating awaits, with a patio area and lawned garden.

Reviews

The cottage was in a great location for exploring the southern Peaks District. The guides and information provided by the owner for the local area were excellent. The property itself was very spacious, comfortable and homely with a large, beautiful, peaceful garden, which was totally enclosed and perfect for visitors with dogs. Everything was really clean and we couldn't have asked for more.

Mrs G,

The cottage was clean and well presented We stayed in the winter -snow outside but the cottage was lovely and warm Super comfy beds and lovely living room with outstanding views Tina was available to answer any questions we had and left a lovely welcome package including treats for our dog This was a girls weekend so the fact that the beds split to singles was perfect for us We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to see the spectacular views in warmer weather
