Description
Nestled in the town of Haltwhistle, in the stunning Northumberland countryside, this property is the perfect base from which to explore sections of the historic Hadrian’s Wall. Situated midway along the wall, you are conveniently located just 6 miles from the Roman Forts of Housesteads, Vindolanda, and Birdoswald, which are ideal to visit for an educational and fun day out. Haltwhistle’s unique position in the South Tyne Valley makes it a superb destination for those who are keenly interested in wildlife, scenery, and an array of outdoor pursuits. Splendid walking trails, fishing, golf, and horse riding are a few of the wonderful activities that are available in the local area. The immediate local area also has a heated outdoor swimming pool, a varied range of amenities, and excellent public transport links to ensure that you get the most out of your staycation (all within 1.5 miles).
This stunning stone-built cottage really exudes a homely and welcoming countryside feel. On the ground floor is a spacious open-plan space which consists of a comfortable and cosy living area with a wood burner, a well-equipped one-wall kitchen, and a dining area – ideal for evenings in with loved ones. An original stone archway with a glazed door leads to the outside space. On the first floor, you will find three bedrooms which are beckoning you to relax after a long day of exploring the countryside. The first is a spacious double room, the second has a single bed and bunk bed, and the third is a single room at the top of the stairs with a bi-fold door. Further down the hallway is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
The outside space is a communal area shared with two other holiday cottages.
