Devon is the UK’s playground, the rugged landscape and spectacular coastlines, both North and South, give you the chance to indulge in all sorts of adventures. Come and get the with some surfing off the coast at Croyde and Saunton, and land-yachting near Bideford and Barnstaple, walking many miles of footpaths and tracks Dartmoor or around the rocks and cliffs of Exmoor’s coastal edge. The rest of this beautiful National Park is perfect for all sorts of outdoor pursuits, from climbing and cycling to horse riding and geocaching.

Below the coast path lie many of Devon’s award winning beaches that earn national recognition year upon year. In North Devon, the golden sands of Woolacombe the award for ‘Britain’s Best Beach’, while the quieter option of Westward Ho! Blue Flag Beach Award. Hidden gems include and Woody Bay. In South Devon, the distinctive shingle beach from Start Bay to the quiet village of Strete, separating the sea from Slapton Ley, is a popular beach with plenty of bathing space. Otherwise, for the more adventurous, numerous coves and hideaways can be found amongst the rugged cliffs.

Slightly further inland the Tarka Trail is a series of footpaths and which wind in a figure of eight formation centreing around the town of Barnstaple, perfect for a leisurely day out.
