Description

Pointside is an elegant semi-detached period holiday home that enjoys a fantastic position next to the river in Helford.

The porch leads from the front garden to a comfortable living room with linen sofas and natural wood floor. There is a woodburner and a TV with DVD. The large kitchen/diner is well-equipped and benefits from two separate ovens and a long pine table with views of the river to enjoy as you dine.

A walk-through study area leads to a children’s room/conservatory with a large comfy seating area with a TV and a utility room with a washer/dryer and freezer. French doors open onto a small courtyard with a barbecue, and steps lead to the upper deck with garden furniture and views down the river.

Stairs from the sitting room go up to a main bedroom with a kingsize bed, en-suite shower room, and river views from all three windows as you lie in bed. Along the landing there is a family bedroom with 2’6” bunks and a 2’6” single bed, a bathroom with bath and overhead shower, and a sweet and sunny twin room.

At the bottom of the front garden is the coastal footpath, and below this are steps down to a shingly beach where there is an outhaul with a 10’ Anarth rowing dinghy for guests to row around the creeks. The rowing boat can also be left on the owner’s pontoon at the Point which gives you access to the water at all times. Reviews

Location and view from the front of the property was great and the area very relaxing - so we really enjoyed the week - parking was a slight issue but the owner kindly allowed us to park on his property . The property is on the market, and a little tiered in places on the inside/outside, with some appliances being a little old, and not really sufficient glasses etc - ,location made up for these small points

Mr Philip S,

I could not reach the owner to sort out the parking arrangements Ben (at original cottages) sorted it, details of parking on the Travel Directions should be made clearer. The decked area needs attention (judged to be unsafe). The oven door would not close and stay closed. The freezer door within the fridge would not close properly. The shower hose in the bathroom is excessively stiff and needs replacing. It is judged that the light fittings in the sitting room were unsafe (in fact this part of the circuit had already tripped when we arrived). A light fitting in the master bedroom is hanging off the wall. On arrival the the glass in the en suite shower cubical was in need of a thorough cleaning. Nevertheless, we felt that the style and overall ambiance of the property was excellent and we enjoyed our stay in Helford.

Mrs Susan A,

We had a lovely stay at Pointside which is a charming house in a beautiful location. The owner was very friendly and acommodating. We also enjoyed having the use of the rowing boat!
