Cottages in South Cornwall
South Cornwall is a location with two distinct coastlines offering visitors both the rugged Atlantic experience and the exotic paradise of the Cornish Riviera.
As the county narrows down towards the most western point of Land’s End, South Cornwall will allow you to experience two very different areas which offer totally contrasting Cornish experiences. You never really have to decide which one you like best as it is possible to flit back and forth between the two, a quite perfectly agonising choice.
The Atlantic coast to the north is home to Padstow, famous for its beautiful estuary and plethora of eateries, Newquay with its surfing possibilities and the higgledy-piggledy charm that is St. Ives, a focus for art lovers. The South coast of this part of Cornwall is known as the Cornish Riviera because of its swathe of exotic beaches and sub-tropical peninsulas like the Roseland which can rival any continental experience. The romance and beauty of this unique part of Cornwall is resonant of holidays of a bygone age and encapsulated by its namesake from the last century, the Cornish Riviera Express. From Fowey, the famous haunt of the author Daphne du Maurier all the way down to the magnificent port of Falmouth for all things maritime with a maze of coves and exotic gardens in between, it will be difficult to find time to visit them all.
