Description

Ger y Porth is a private farmhouse situated deep in the heart of the beautiful Welsh countryside with direct access to the Llyn Coastal Path leading to places like Porth Towyn beach and Porth Ysgaden. The renovated rustic cottage has endless views across the fields towards the hills of Garn Fadryn, Tre'r Ceiri and Yr Eifl as the sun sets across the Irish Sea. This 3-bedroom house has been lovingly-restored to perfectly blend traditional and contemporary features; from the sleek, newly-fitted kitchen and bathrooms to the comforting wood burner and original stone fireplace. With flexible sleeping options, open plan living areas and a spacious lawn with firepit, this farmhouse is the ideal escape for friends and family looking to discover the beauty of the Llyn Peninsula.

Take a walk along the Llyn Coastal Path, leading from the farmhouse, and discover the beautiful remote beach of Porth Towyn, sheltered by its crescent shape and grassy cliffs with unique sand that 'squeaks' as you walk. Tudweiliog village is within a 20-minute stroll and host to a lovely family pub and local shop. Slightly further afield are the hidden gems of both Nefyn (5.7 mi) and Morfa Nefyn (4.8 mi). The beaches here boast clear waters, distant views of The Rival Mountains and a variety of conditions that make them perfect for watersports. Between these two villages are a range of pubs, convenience stores and eateries. You can also take the coastal trail past the famous Nefyn & District Golf Club to the secluded Porthdinllaen beach and picturesque Ty Coch Inn nestled in the headland.

Reviews

A beautiful, spacious cottage in a quiet location, with excellent access to the coast. Our children loved playing in the gardens. There are some beautiful beaches and even a seal colony in short walking distance.

Mr W,

The cottage is great, very well situated for access to the coastal path and nearby beaches. The seal colony to the north is a must! There was lots of useful information and suggestions provided by the owner. The kitchen is well equipped (hand blender and electric whisk useful!) and despite not being huge the cottage makes good use of space and was very comfortable for six adults and a dog! The only niggle was the very high temperatures the bedrooms were heated to, which was hard to override for any length of time - seems wrong to complain about being too hot in winter, but it did affect our sleep quality a bit as the duvets were very warm too! We stayed in December - would also be a great summer location to really take advantage of the coast.

Dr B,

Wouldn’t recommend this property, even though it’s in a beautiful location, however the cleanness was very poor had hairs from pervious guests in both bothroom showers, kitchen oven hasn’t been cleaned for and about year. The extractor fan hasn’t been cleaned since it was fitted was what looks like grease dripping from it. The bath in main bathroom isn’t even fit to the floor and a massive health and safety issue. Was told there would be a bag of wood for the fire place, which there was only 3 pieces of wood. Rate the my stay a 4 of 10.

Mr P,

good location with quick access to local beaches and coastal path . fully equipped kitchen with more than you would ever need. access to wetsuits , boards etc was fantastic . useful utility room . however there is a lack of attention to detail - lack of any clothes storage is an issue and we used windowsills to store clothes . ( there is room for wardrobes ) twin bedroom is tiny and difficult to access . nowhere to store food either . cover of meters cupboard fell down one evening ( above the kitchen / utility door ) lucky no one under it at the time . fridge door needs repair . had been cleaned but this was basic ( lots of dust and sweets under twin beds ) it’s a functional house but could be so much better with some repairs . repainting, better cleaning and some finer touches like more pictures on the wall or some books .

Mrs G,

A simple, idealistic cottage set on a beautiful coastline. Quick access to the beach and coastal walks were fantastic. Nice local pub and not far from shops. We had a lovely week’s holiday. There were some remedial maintenance works required but hopefully they would have been addressed quickly. We would stay again.

Mr T,

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Perfect for a family getaway.

Mr L,

The cottage was superb, renovated to a high standard , modern but managing to incorporate the traditional style and tastefully furnished with everything one would need. Loved the framed photo art on the walls of the wave (at nearby Hell’s Mouth we believe) and how the shot was taken. Only real issue we had was with the toilet seats , they are clip on ones which make them easier to clean but they kept coming off and potentially you could slide off which would be a problem for someone with mobility issues . Hopefully this is something that can be sorted out though . The views and location are incredible, with easy access to the local shop and pub and a stunning beach reached across the neighbouring fields. We are booking again for next year.

Mrs S,

A lovely cottage in an amazing location.. We definitely want to visit again. Thank you

Mrs L,

An absolutely beautiful house with a short walk to the beach. Old farm building close by that are not currently in use. Easy to get to and close to some wonderful pubs and restaurants.

Dr P,

A wonderful stay that accommodated not only 6 people but 3 dogs!- the boot room meant we could clean muddy paws whilst keeping the home spotless, it was super clean ,comfy and welcoming, with all that you needed for a great stay. Loved the fact that the floors and kitchen were so easy to clean, great location with walks to coast. I would recommend this and look forward to returning.
