Description

This timber clad shepherds’ hut is set in a private meadow surrounded by the open countryside, simply perfect for couples wanting to embrace a rural location within Brecon Beacons National Park. The warming wood burner and spacious detached kitchen makes it a great base no matter what the season. A paradise for both walkers and cyclists, where you can head out and explore the Brecon Beacons, set off on the Brecon Beacons Way, or visit Talybont Reservoir, Waterfalls and Brecon Canal tow path. For cyclists, there is a networks of country lanes that traverse the hillsides. There are activity centres that offer kayaking, climbing, mountain biking and horse riding throughout the area. For more leisurely days out, there are some lovely market towns, steeped in history with bustling high streets, such as Hay-on-Wye (20 miles) known as the town of books, Crickhowell (9 miles) and Brecon (7 miles).

Peacefully tucked away within a mature meadow, the traditional hut is set to the rear, slightly elevated with views onto the surrounding countryside. It offers the perfect space for a peaceful night’s rest with double French doors that open to the front, a cosy built in double bed, with a bespoke handmade cabinet with shelves, finished with a wooden pew that faces a wood burner. Steps down from the hut into the meadow lead to a detached barn conversion offering a great living space, a well-equipped kitchen area with table and chairs, and a spacious shower and WC.

Outside you can relax with a picnic table that is perfect for summer dining, along with a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and stargazing.

Reviews

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed our stay. A lovely shepherd's hut in a peaceful location, close to local amenities. Car parking is on site. The hut is very comfortable. Plenty of walks from the door step and a bus stop at the end of the road. Host was very welcoming and helpful.
