This is a great family house located in a popular coastal village with a good local store and great pub within walking distance. The house, which has been put together to a high standard for easy and sociable living, is a year round delight; airy and bright in the summer and a cosy bolt hole for out of season holidays. Light floods into the house everywhere and the layout is ideal for larger family groups, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Salthouse is an unspoilt conservation village situated on the North Norfolk Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is well represented with the award winning Cookies Crabshop serving local seafood and produce as well as the Dun Cow pub. It is an ideal location for exploring the diverse coastline, from the popular resorts of Sheringham and Cromer to the picturesque villages of Cley-next-the-Sea and Blakeney, all of which are within a few miles and can be accessed via the ever-popular Coast Hopper bus service if you don’t want to take the car. The nearby glorious sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham are wide, spacious and backed by pine woods and don’t miss a visit to Holkham Hall and deer park, home to the Earl of Leicester. The area is a year-round haven for ornithologists, walkers and nature lovers, with many bird reserves, good fishing and excellent walks close by. Enjoy a boat trip to north Norfolk’s seal colonies from either Blakeney or Morston quays or hire a dingy for some local sailing adventures of your own. There is much to do here and once discovered you will surely want to return.

Reviews

A really well equipped and comfortable cottage in a fabulous location. We loved being able to explore the Norfolk coastline and surrounding areas. Salthouse felt like a really central location for this. We were a party of 10 and never felt too crowded. The boot/coat room is a huge plus to keeping things out of the way and the additional TV room is great and allows breakout space for games/TV / puzzles etc. We found everything we needed and more in the kitchen and I'm pretty jealous of the induction hob and oven which heated so quickly. Hot water supply was plentiful and all 6 bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We have already recommended to friends.

Mrs H,

A fantastic property very central to long walks, Holt and the wonderful Dun Cow pub and local store. Everywhere is dog friendly. Plenty of beautiful countryside, wildlife and scenery to die for. Stars amazing at night due to no light pollultion. The property is very comfortable and well equipped. Beds were great, plenty of bathrooms for multi generation families. Dogs and humans thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Would definitely visit again.

Mrs W,

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Sea Watch. The layout of the property was perfect for us as a group of six adults and four children. There is plenty of space, the snug for the kids is great and the boot room for all the wellies and coats is fantastic. The views from the top floor are stunning and the location is just perfect - a short walk to the pebble beach, local shop selling coffees & pastries and the dun cow pub. Would highly recommend Sea Watch, we can’t wait to stay again.
