Guests will love the open plan kitchen diner which is flooded with natural light due to the many windows. The kitchen’s coffee machine is perfect for early mornings in preparation for exciting days exploring Suffolk. French doors that lead out onto the private garden where guests will find a patio area complete with garden furniture and Barbeque, is a great space for outdoor dining. Summer evenings can be spent enjoying the outdoors and in the chillier months, guests can enjoy quality time together in a generously sized living room. Double doors lead into the sitting room where warming woods and comfortable furnishings will greet the guests. Nothing beats the warmth of a real fire, and with the living room’s wood burner, guests can enjoy being warm and toasty.

Hope Cove has three generously sized bedrooms with enough beds for up to seven people. The master bedroom’s floor to ceiling sliding doors lead out onto the garden. Guests can open the curtains to Suffolk and have a wonderfully bright start to the morning. The bedroom also has the added bonus of an en-suite, creating a private and comfortable living space. Just a mile north of Aldeburgh is this fascinating seaside village, built in the 1920s by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, an architect, barrister and playwright. The mock Tudor style of the buildings is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf club, a country club with tennis courts and the Mere - a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby. The beaches are mainly sandy and behind the village is a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land.

Reviews

Lovely spacious and well equipped cottage with a large neat garden, with 2 different positions for sitting out and eating. A stone's throw from the beach, and easily located for exploring the attractions nearby. We went several times to the fisherman's huts on the beach at Aldeburgh a mile away to get fresh fish. The plaice we bought had only been caught an hour before! The Dolphin pub a short stroll away had nice food. Our favourite was the Cinnamon Indian restaurant in Leiston with authentic, tasty dishes and generous portions with a public car park opposite. Great for birdwatching at Minsmere and Dunwich not far away. Cycled every day and loved the scenery, but not as flat as I thought.

Mrs M,

A great place to stay in a good location with a private garden.

Mr U,

This was our fourth stay at Hope Cove and it felt like we had returned home as soon as we opened the door! The property is in a beautiful location and only a short walk to the beach. Although the property doesn’t have a sea view, you can hear the wonderful sound of the sea the entire time which we find so relaxing. The gates can be secured which means children can play safely in the garden. The house is very spacious and comfortable and has everything you need. We were sad to leave but will definitely return in the near future. Thank you for another fantastic holiday.

Mrs B,

Great cottage, wonderful location. Well appointed and with comfy beds. Would highly recommend and we considered good value for money.

Mr V,

We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. The wood burning fireplace worked really well for the cold evenings, heated up the house. The house was spacious and suited our needs. It is in a great location if you like walking on the beach.

Ms P,

Very nice property, close to the beach. Thorpness is lovely and Hope Cove is perfectly situated for a great holiday. Much enjoyed by our family.

Mrs C,

Quality of the holiday of the accomodation

Mr Roy P,

Ideal secluded location within a short walk of the excellent village pub and picturesque lake. Hardstanding off road parking for two vehicles. Breakfast on the patio outside the kitchen a pleasurable experience. Our second time and we will use again.
