Description

Budle Newton is part of the Bamburgh First collection of 12 different houses and cottages under the same ownership and with a consistent quality of interior design and attention to detail throughout. The interiors are professionally designed to suit each individual dwelling and the owner has tried to think of everything that will enhance the stay of every guest.

Budle Newton is a stunning self catering cottage set in an idyllic rural setting within farmland, overlooking the beautiful Budle Bay and just over one mile from Bamburgh.

Sleeping up to 8 guests, Budle Newtown has everything you could need. It offers a large open plan living area, with views of Budle Bay and over to Lindisfarne.  There is a light and airy conservatory, perfect for watching the sky and sea change colour every 10 minutes. One visitor said it was like it’s like sitting in a painting as the artist does his work. The sitting room has a real fire with easy lighting logs and the front patio is a great place to barbecue. There is also a games area with a pool table and a private hot tub in the garden with views over the bay. It has 4 bedrooms and three travertine bathrooms.

Inside the cottage guests will find some nice personal touches which include a hand selected welcome pack, a voucher for a pound of the famous Bamburgh Bangers, a box of games including Scrabble, Monopoly and Cluedo and the owner’s personal guide to the 21 best things to do whilst in the area. Netflix is also included as is a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker.

Budle Bay is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, very popular with birdwatchers. Depending on the tide, it is possible to walk all the way around to the beautiful and vast sandy Bamburgh beach, with its magnificent castle standing tall over it. Bamburgh was recently a finalist in Channel 4’s UK’s Top Village competition and offers a great selection of pubs and restaurants. There you will find a lovely selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, tea houses and cafes as well as one of the most scenic golf clubs in Britain. Guests of Bamburgh First can claim up to two free rounds of golf per property booked at Bamburgh Castle Golf Club - please see below for more information. Free games of Tennis underneath the castle on the village green are also provided to guests of Bamburgh First along with access to leisure club facilities .

The market town of Alnwick with its historic (Hogwarts) Castle, Alnwick Gardens and the famous Barter Books, is 25 minutes away by car.  The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is 25 minutes to the North, and the Cheviot Hills 20 minutes to the West. You can see both from the cottage.  The fishing village of Seahouses with its boat trips to the Farnes is 15 minutes to the south.

It’s also easy to reach all the pretty fishing towns on the coastline, Beadnell, Craster (home of the Kipper), Newton by the Sea, Alnmouth and Amble.  Hadrian’s wall is less than two hours to the South.  Shop: 1.5 miles Pub: 1.5 miles.

Reviews

Fabulous location with spectacular views! The hot tub and pool table were a bonus!

Dr H,

Absolutely fabulous location and property for the most memorable holiday. Hoping to return next year -

Mr W,

A beautiful and comfortable house with a stunning coastal view. It was perfect for our family holiday!

Mr B,

Expensive, with a few niggling issues compensated by the spectacular views.

Mrs C,

Great location and fantastic views. Fantastic for our family reunion. Handy for beach and walk to Bamburgh.

Mr G,

For the amount we paid we didn’t expect the cottage to be as tatty as it was. Stayed many times in cottages in Northumberland with another company and was very satisfied.

Mrs R,

An exceptional character cottage in probably the best coastal views location in the UK. We stayed as four couples, four large cars & all were able to park directly outside the main entrance no problem at all.. Our extended family, who have properties in the area were all extremely impressed with Budle Newton cottage & its location. The cottage offers its guests as included, golf, tennis, health club, spa which are excellent facilities nearby. The property has a welcoming pack that is a great. We’ll definitely be back there!!

Mr H,

Cottage and location are perfect, however the cottage is in need of some general TLC. Paintwork requires freshening up throughout. Heated towel radiator in upstairs bathroom needs replacing as doesn’t work. Roof in games room leaks when raining so needs repairing or replacing. Someone did come out to check it when I informed them but could not do anything at that time. The hot tub could have a roof over it for when it’s raining. The kitchen equipment was well stocked with everything you need. We loved cooking on the Aga. The dishwasher could be in need of attention as dishes came out dirty at times. Pool table got well used by the family. Overall a lovely time spent with family.

Mrs M,

Fabulous location and abosutely the most stunning views. We loved the location, the hot tub, the fireplace and the pool table and the Aga too! However the level of cleanliness and attention to detail really let this place down for us.

Mrs M,

Fantastic stay. The house is really well appointed in a great location with amazing views. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. The log fire is lovely and the kids loved the hot tub. We would definitely stay again!

Dr R,

They cottage is lovely and in a good location , the views are amazing , we did enjoy our stay but there were negatives, mainly the cleanliness of the cottage , cobwebs in plain sight , around the aga and the vent really dusty , we found cremated food in the aga that had been left and we had to clean the microwave , there were dead flies on floor in shower room and one on the bedroom carpet, in places it just felt a bit neglected which is a shame with this lovely property x

Mrs H,

you definately pay for the viws which are great. Tierd old furniture and uncomfortabe beds.

Mrs W,

Cottage was in great location and beautiful views, lovely walks , plenty of room for whole of family and dog , facilities in cottage great with the plus of pool table and also hot tub would definitely recommend , we are looking at booking cottage for next year
