Description

This charming, terraced cottage is perfect for a small family or group of friends to enjoy a relaxing seaside holiday together. Located on a quiet residential street in the lively little village of Bamburgh, all of its amenities are on your doorstep, and with a great range of shops to browse along with friendly pubs and restaurants, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The sandy beach is less than half a mile away and the imposing castle is very much a presence in the village. Walkers will enjoy striding out along the beautiful Northumberland Heritage Coast with mile upon mile of trails to follow. The causeway connecting the mainland to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is 14 miles away and visiting it makes a wonderful day trip. The interesting border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is 19 miles north and the attractive fishing village of Seahouses is just 3.5 miles to the south.

The cottage has a warm and welcoming feel throughout. A cosy living room features seating gathered around a wood burner effect fireplace and patio doors opening to the garden with views of the castle beyond. The charming open-plan kitchen/diner is the heart of the house and is ideal for sociable cooking and dining with an island breakfast bar and a dining table. Another set of patio doors open on to the front garden and flood the space with natural light. A set of open stairs in the living room leads up to the first floor, and here guests will find a beautifully presented king-size bedroom with stunning panoramic views of Bamburgh Castle. There is also a pretty twin room and a polished modern bathroom featuring a shower over a bath.

Outside, guests will find two pretty enclosed gardens to the front and rear of the home. The sheltered front garden is a little smaller with a lawn and a patio area set up with furniture. A hedge with to fence along one side surrounds the garden. Located directly outside, this patio is ideal for al fresco dining in the sunshine. The back garden is longer, mainly laid to lawn and enclosed by a fence with a stone wall to the rear. At the far end, guests will find a picnic table and chairs as well as magnificent views of the castle. There is also a BBQ available for guests to use.

Beautifully stylish cottage, excellent cleanliness. Has everything you could wish for. Love the private garden at the back. Perfectly positioned in the village of Bamburgh- the view of the castle is magnificent. The smoke alarm started bleeping one morning (It was faulty) and the owner sent someone straight round. Very grateful and impressed. Fabulous stay.

Our second stay at Finn Cottage. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Lovely big bed in the main bedroom with fabulous views of the coast and the castle. Walking distance to pubs, restaurants and shops. Beach 5 minute stroll away. The cottage is warm with plenty of hot water. There are two safe, fully enclosed gardens so perfect for children or dogs. Highly recommend and we hope to be back.

This is an absolute gem of a holiday cottage, the location is perfect and the views from the property towards Bamburgh castle are amazing, having a cuppa in the morning watching the sunrise over the horizon and castle was just perfect. The cottage itself is decorated to a high standard with lots of mod-cons. Parking can be a bit challenging outside the property but we always found somewhere in the town and it’s only a couple of minutes walk. Bamburgh itself is a great location with pubs, cafes, a castle and a dog friendly beach!

Probably the best cottage we have stayed in over recent years. It was perfect for the two of us but would also handle 2 extra guests. The decor is very tasteful - fresh and coastal in theme. The standard of furnishings and equipment is also excellent. We would be very happy to return. The view from tbe bedroom and long front garden is utterly magnificent with Bamburgh Castle dominating the scene.

Finn cottage is amazing. Perfect location in the heart of Bamburgh, everything within walking distance. The cottage was immaculate, clean, very well equipped with everything you could need. Both rear and front gardens enclosed, making it safe for dogs. The beds are so comfy and the views to die for. I have absolutely no negative comments and would recommend finn cottage to anyone. The best most beautiful cottage we have ever stayed in.

We have just returned from our second stay at this beautiful cottage in Bamburgh having enjoyed another wonderful holiday. The location is perfect, in very easy reach of the beach, local shops (ie for ice-creams and lovely meals out) and of course Bamburgh Castle itself. The views of the castle from the cottage are second to none. During our first stay last year it was just my wife, my dog and I, and we enjoyed it so much we brought two of our best friends with us this time! Our friends loved it so much that they are going to book to come again themselves! The cottage interior is of outstanding quality, beautifully curated decor and facilities, with everything that you could possibly need for your stay. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday in outstanding surroundings, in beautiful Northumberland with endless beaches, castles and islands to visit (Holy Island / Lindisfarne is a must-see, just make sure to check the causeway crossing times!) and to come home to relax in a first-class cottage with views and garden seating (front or back gardens), then this is the holiday for you. Highly recommended, we will be coming back again!
