Description
This stunning retreat is perfect for large groups of friends and extended families, and is situated on the North Norfolk coast in the quaint seaside village of Mundesley. Mundesley is full of charm, with pretty flint buildings and a whole host of independent shops and eateries, as well as a fascinating maritime museum and a 9-hole golf course. Its beach stretches out for miles with colourful beach huts and shallow rock pools. The Broads National Park (10 miles) makes a fabulous day out with its vast network of waterways and riverside paths – it’s a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. The popular seaside town of Cromer is only 7 miles away and if you drive along the beautiful coast road, you’ll find Wells-next-the-Sea (28 miles). Visit Horsey Gap (17 miles) for some seal spotting, which especially exciting during the winter when the grey seals give birth to their adorable pups.
This historic, sea-view home on the beach path is spacious and tastefully furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and original artworks by local artists. Entry into the house is through a conservatory with comfortable seating, where a peaceful morning coffee can be enjoyed. You’re then welcomed into a large entrance hall with the main staircase. There’s a drawing room with an open marble fireplace, a log fire, a desk, and a Smart TV. To keep the children entertained, there’s a mini cinema room with 60-inch Smart TV with bean bag seating. The handy boot room with WC provides a selection of Hunter wellies and Barbour coats for guests to use. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed to whip up delicious feasts, featuring an Aga and an open-plan design that leads through to the garden room with its spacious dining table and bi-fold doors that let the salty sea air flow in. Here, enjoy takeaways and home-cooked meals together while planning the day ahead with the views of the sea in the background. The lounge is a great place to put your feet up and unwind, furnished in a beach house-style with contemporary art pieces adorning the walls. When it’s time to call it a night, choose from seven sumptuous bedrooms spread across the first and second floors, each with their own character and comforts. These include one king-size room, four double bedrooms, and two twin rooms, one of which offers an additional single bed that can be arranged on request. Serving the bedrooms and completing the interior is a well-appointed family bathroom and a separate, stylish shower room with a walk-in shower.
Outside is a large garden with garden furniture, a charcoal BBQ, a 5-person hot tub and an all-weather table tennis. Unwind with a chilled glass of fizz or fire up the BBQ to dine alfresco in the sunshine. There's also a ‘Beach Garden’ with views out to sea and a raised sun terrace – perfect for lazy afternoons topping up your tan. Guests will also find the remains of a World War 2 bunker in the garden (affectionately known as The Bunker) as well as a garden shed where you’ll find handy beach equipment. Completing the outside space is private, off-road parking for up to four cars.
