Cottages in Sleights

Sleights is a bustling and well-served village located on the edge of the North York Moors, the perfect base from which to explore.

If you are looking for a thriving, traditional Yorkshire village then look no further than Sleights, with its pretty stone cottages nestling on the banks of the River Esk. Sleights is a village that has grown a lot in the last century and it will provide you with a real experience of rural life; this is no museum but a thriving and vibrant community.

This village is a perfect destination for visitors who might want to spend time without their car. Its size makes Sleights very well served with local amenities so there's no need to stray too far from the village at all.

Two welcoming village pubs, a fish and chip shop and several tea rooms mean that you can eat out whenever you feel like it and a stroll on the banks of the river afterwards will provide the perfect end to your day. The River Esk is the only salmon river in Yorkshire and it is possible to see the salmon at their ‘leaps’ at Sleights, one of only two such locations on the river. A train will take you from the village station to Whitby and there is plenty of space for you to stretch your legs in the beautiful landscape that surrounds the village itself.
