Enjoy a fantastic holiday in Lancashire with your best friends with our pet friendly cottage giveaway!

We know that a holiday is no fun if you’ve got to leave part of the family behind, so together with our partners Muddy Paws, we’re giving you the chance to win a holiday for four humans and two dogs, plus a dog travel bundle worth over £250!

Bordered by a traditional dry stone wall, Davis Gate Cottage is a recent barn conversion that is now a wonderful holiday home in the peaceful Lancashire countryside. Surrounded by fields on all sides, with sheep grazing close by and some lovely country views this is a fantastic place for a pet-friendly holiday. The cottage has been furnished to a high standard and has many environmental features including a heat pump and solar panels. There are exposed beams in every room, and solid oak flooring gives Davis Gate Cottage character and charm.

But as tempting as it is, you won’t want to stay in your cottage for too long when you see what’s outside your door. Davis Gate Cottage is on the southern edge of the majestic Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that covers 310 square miles of deep wooded valleys, peat moorland and rocky peaks. Within its borders are walks and treks for all levels of ability and fitness, or you can just forge your own route. It’s a great place for curious canines to explore, full of new scents to sniff and trails to follow.

Less than two miles to the south of your cottage is the River Ribble. One of the largest rivers in the area, the valley has been carved whilst the river makes its way down to the Irish Sea. It has made fine walking territory over the millennia and, a 73 mile footpath called The Ribble Way runs along the length of the watercourse. Walking a section of it is a very pleasant way to spend a day for both you and your pet whilst the river burbles and tumbles beside you.

With all this spectacular countryside to explore you’d be forgiven for spending all your holiday in the green and leafy. However, you’d be missing out on so much if you didn’t venture at least once into a more urban environment. There are numerous pretty villages and towns to visit such as Clitheroe, Pendleton, Ribchester and Chipping, and you’re sure to find a pub that offers a warm welcome for you and your dog. Plus you’re only a few miles from vibrant Blackpool and characterful Lytham-St-Annes, great places to visit when your hound wants to feel the sand between his paws.
