With a fantastic waterside location and spacious accommodation Holly Nook really is a special place for a holiday with family or friends.

Situated on the edge of Lake Windermere with access to the shore via a shared jetty (ideal if you are planning to bring a boat) and just a short walk to the town of Ambleside, Holly Nook is in a great location. This fabulous self catering property is close to Waterhead Pier, where you can catch a boat to cruise on Lake Windermere or enjoy the waterside restaurants and cafes that are just a stones throw away. The town of Ambleside is less than a mile away and provides lots of amenities including a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and a cinema.

Externally at Holly Nook you will find beautiful private landscaped gardens, large lawn area, a fantastic decked area with table, chairs and BBQ to relax and take in the stunning lake views, you also have the luxury of a smaller patio for a morning coffee and private parking for 3 cars on the gated driveway. You can also enjoy the lake views from the inside of the property with the large windows in the conservatory-style living room, giving you ever-changing views of Lake Windermere throughout the day.

The accommodation throughout this self catering property is tastefully decorated, contemporary and spacious. As you enter Holly Nook the kitchen diner to your left is modern and well equipped, providing a 5-ring gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. Also in this room there is a table and seating for 6 and doors out to a patio which is ideal for a morning coffee or for letting your dog out. The utility room off the hallway provides large fridge freezer, washer, dryer and plenty of space for muddy boots. The shower room with power shower, WC and sink are also located here.

On the other side of the main hallway is a more formal dining area with table, seating for 6 people and a cosy gas fire. The dining area leads to a light, contemporary lounge area with high ceiling and large windows, comfortable sofas, coffee table, a flat screen TV, Sky and DVD player. Doors from the lounge open on to the decked area, seating and stunning lake view. 

From the dining area the inner hallway leads to the 3 double bedrooms, bunk room and house bathroom. The 3 double bedrooms have been stylishly decorated and each provides drawers and hanging space for your belongings. In addition 2 of these have their own wash basin and the master bedroom enjoys lake views across the garden. The bunk room is a great room for the kids with wardrobe and cabinet. The second bathroom in Holly Nook provides a WC, sink, bath and shower over the bath.

We had a lovely week at Holly Nook and all 3 generations of the family really enjoyed the space, and coziness of the house. The location was perfect and we hired boats and kayaks to explore the lake.

We could not recommend this property highly enough. It's a beautiful house, very well equipped with everything you need on your holiday making it a very comfortable, convenient experience. The garden and private jetty were gorgeous and enabled everyone, including pet and young child to fully enjoy the space. We had a small maintenance issue during our stay which was dealt with quickly and professionally by both Good Life Cottages and the owners which was greatly appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone else looking for a beautiful place to stay in a very convenient part of town with easy access to Lake Windermere, Ambleside and the surrounding areas.
