Cottages near Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB

Covering just over 99,000 acres of wetlands, heaths, shingle beaches and historic towns and villages, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths runs along the eastern edge of East Anglia, starting at the Stour Estuary in the south all the way to Kessingland in the north and where the county of Suffolk nears its border with it’s northern counterpart, Norfolk.

The boundaries mark the end of the rich, undulating green fields of agricultural Suffolk and the beginning of a low lying, fascinating variety of ancient heathlands, marshes, estuaries, forests, shingle beaches and crumbling cliffs. An astonishing variety of bird, plant and animal life call this area their home and many writers and famous musicians have sought inspiration from this diverse and inspirational landscape, leaving a legacy of it’s beauty and importance for visitors and generations to come.

Visiting this unique area on holiday is a treat in itself, be it to enjoy the stylish seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh or to stay away from the crowds and discover the heritage coast villages of Westleton, Blythburgh and Dunwich. At every turn you'll find unparalleled and differing scenery which will surely leave you wanting to return time and time again.
