Description

This property is situated in the wonderful old fishing village of Hope Cove, which boasts two beaches, both of which are within walking distance of the property. Some visitors may be content to spend their holiday in and around the village, but others may wish to make the most of all that the surrounding area has to offer, including the historic city of Plymouth and the resort towns of the English Riviera. Closer still, the town of Salcombe is just five miles away and offers a huge range of activities, including kayak and dinghy hire, a powerboat school, a gin distillery, and a range of shops and eateries.

This single-storey property has been lovingly styled and offers a wonderful place for a family getaway. On entering the property, guests will find the light-filled lounge diner, with its open fire, TV/DVD, comfortable seating and dining table seating six which enjoys a lovely bright position next to the patio doors, overlooking the garden. The kitchen is just next door and offers an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Three steps down from the lounge lead to the bright and sunny conservatory, where there is plenty of seating from which to enjoy the views over the garden. One of the bedrooms is accessed via the conservatory, which also offers a TV and down three steps, a pretty double room with en-suite shower and WC. The other two bedrooms are a king-size room and a double. There is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside is a lovely enclosed garden, which is mainly set to lawn, with a patio area close to the house where guests will find a table and chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ. There is off-road parking provided for two cars.

A truly wonderful cottage. The owners have thought of everything, from extra blankets and hot water bottles, to a good stack of firewood to start you off, to a plentiful supply of dishwasher tablets. Additional touches like the fresh vase of flowers really set this home apart from other typical rentals. We were very comfortable and enjoyed a happy week in Hope despite the wet weather. Good communication with the owner - we were contacted a week in advance to confirm any prospective requirements.

We had a lovely holiday. The property was very well presented with all equipment required and in good working order. Clean, comfortable, and as described. It is in a lovely location and provided an ideal base for up to 6 people and a dog. Just 5 min walk to the cove where there are several good restaurant/pubs and a nice beach. 10 mins down the oastal path is the lovely beach of south milton. All most enjoyable and highly recommend.

Spacious holiday home in a great location. Very well stocked kitchen with all bases covered. Nice garden with deck terrace in the sun, with great view of the sheep on the nearby hillside, as well as sea views.

The sun room and main living areas are comfortable, well furnished and with great views. Very convenient location only a few minutes walk down steep hill to Hope Cove. The bungalow is well equipped and clean. Lovely, quiet location and so close to the coastal path and the amenities of Hope Cove village.

Great property in a great location, the beach really is just a very short walk away. The property has pretty much everything you could think of and is a very bright, clean and relaxing place. The neighbourhood is full of people on there holidays so had a nice feel too. Great for families and great for couples a like. Would definitely go back.

This is a well presented cottage with everything provided. Comfortable and ideal for walking and access to the cove. All we needed for 5 of us to have an enjoyable week. Not sure why a 200 security deposit is required after paying a hire cost!

Enjoyed our 2 week stay at Melrose. A good base for our holiday & only 7-8 mins walk down to Hope Cove itself. Ideal spot for walking with plenty of options either along the coast or inland. The property was a nice place to relax, either outside in the garden or on the decking on a sunny day, or inside when the weather wasn't so good. No complaints at all.

The cottage overall is wonderful. Fabulous location and very well equipped with the added extras in the kitchen etc that make a stay even easier and enjoyable. The garden and space inside is a real benefit and our children loved it. A few things would benefit from being easily fixed but overall a great stay.
