Access Statement

Parking outside the cottage is gravel onto a slate area from this there is a step up to the front door of approx 4 inches high and a threshold strip at the door. Wheelchair access would be difficult due to the narrowness of the hall. Flooring in the bedrooms are carpets; every where else quarry tiles with a rug on top in the living room. There is a step down to the kitchen which is marked with a white strip. The back door opens outwards to a small patio area to go up to the lawn which is up steps, one crosses gravel. Kitchen units are open plan. In the bathroom there is a hand rail by the WC and one over the bath. Of the 2 bedrooms the twin bedded room has more space.

Description

Vine Cottage is the largest of a group of three cottages, converted from former farm buildings in a peaceful rural setting, just under three miles from the lovely little coastal village of Little Haven, with its three pubs (a 10 minute drive or approximately 20 minutes across fields and lanes by Public Footpath) and 2.5 miles from the longer sandy beach at Broad Haven, which has Convenience Store, café etc. The property lies within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with excellent local walking and several beaches within easy reach.

The cottage is single storey, but with a threshold step at the front and rear, and one step down from the living room into the kitchen. The cottage retains some attractive exposed stone walls, as well as a high beamed ceiling and quarry tiled floors in the living room. Central heating and hot water is by an eco-friendly Biomass boiler. The accommodation comprises:

Entrance Hall:  including a spacious cupboard for storing coats and boots.

Living Room: open plan, with three piece suite, TV with Freeview, DVD player, woodburning stove, pine dining table and chairs and a storage cupboard for crockery and glassware.

Kitchen: Compact, but well fitted and incorporating an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Back door to garden.

Bedroom One: with king size bed.

Bedroom Two: with twin beds, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe.

Bathroom: a family bathroom with shower over the bath, WC, basin, shaver point, grab rails.

Shared Facilities: There is a laundry room at the far end of the group of cottages, with token-operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Washing line.

Outside: Vine Cottage benefits from a private enclosed garden, with patio and gravelled area, with a good sized lawn beyond. Garden furniture is provided (but stored away in winter). Guests also have access to surrounding farmland, shared landscaped garden with pond. Plenty of hardstanding parking to the front of the group of cottages.

Fenton Cottages are in an ideal location for visiting the Pembrokeshire coastline, within easy reach of numerous sandy beaches and the coastal path, and with excellent opportunities for watersports nearby – surfing, water skiing, coasteering and more. This is an ideal base from which to visit the Puffin and Manx Shearwater colonies on Skomer Island, with trips running from the Lockley Lodge Visitor Centre (9 miles), just beyond Marloes. The small city of St David’s, with its stunning Cathedral, is just 17 miles north, with the quaint, rocky harbours of Solva, Trefin and others round about. A drive of some 22 miles east will take you to the colourfully picturesque town of Tenby, taking in some Estuary views as you cross the Cleddau Bridge on the way. A similar 40 minute drive will take you to Folly Farm, whilst Oakwood Theme Park is just 15 miles away.

Vine is one of a group of three cottages, which can be booked together as a group to accommodate up to 8 people. Please see Fenton Cottages for full details.

Reviews

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place, we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. A walk across a couple of fields and a country lane gets you to Broad Haven. Vine cottage is cosy and has everything you need, the garden is enclosed and private. We had Storm Kathleen pounding Wales while we were there but even she couldn’t ruin our stay.
