Description
This attractive, detached spilt-level cottage is situated in the little village of Cwm Gwaun, in a peaceful valley surrounded by wonderful woodlands carpeted by bluebells, wood anemones and wild garlic in spring. Fishguard with its harbour is 4.5 miles away and Newport is 5 miles away.
Renovated to a high standard, Llysyfelin has a large fitted kitchen/diner with oil-fired Rayburn, dining table and chairs. A separate utility room has an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, second sink and a fridge/freezer. The cosy lounge has an electric fire in a feature fireplace, doors out to the patio, TV with basic Sky, DVD player, video and CD player. Ground floor double bedroom with en suite shower room and WC. Upstairs are a further two bedrooms - one with a double and single bed, and the second with three singles. The large family bathroom upstairs has a corner bath, WC and bidet. WiFi and payphone available. Stone steps lead down from the house to a patio with garden table and chairs, with further stone steps leading up from the patio to a lawned garden.
National Park walks are but a stone's throw away as is the River Gwaun, which flows leisurely by. Free trout fishing is available on the owner's land (license can be obtained from the village Post Office). The Dyffryn Arms, also known as Bessie's Pub, a famous traditional pub, is within walking distance and serves beer straight from the cask. There are shops, cafes and restaurants at both Newport and Fishguard. The valley is sheltered by the Preseli mountains and is surrounded by an abundance of beautiful beaches, including the sandy beach at Newport stretching for almost a mile. Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and other watersports available from the beach. Penlan Uchaf Gardens offer cream teas and a leisurely walk around the gardens, which have spectacular views. There are two micro breweries in the area offering tours and tasting sessions. Popular tourist attractions such as Oakwood, Folly Farm, Blue Lagoon and St David's with its beautiful cathedral are easily reached by car.
