Description

The Nook is a delightful cottage in the centre of the thriving little town of Beaumaris, just a stroll away from the shops, great cafes and restaurants, the waterfront, moated castle and historic Gaol. Beaumaris is lively throughout the year. Boat trips and rib rides can be taken from the pier, walks along the coast and the various dining options in the region explored. Some of Anglesey’s best beaches are a short drive away.

'don't miss the popular Red Boat ice cream parlour just down the road, or Central Bakery, on the corner a few doors away, for a superb collection of artisan breads, pastry's and pasties.' from Jacky, our local property manager

The Cottage: is in a good location right in front of the pretty church and has been lovingly styled by the artist owner, who’s paintings can be seen around the house. There are two bedrooms; one with a king-sized bed, the other with a double that can only be accessed from one side. On road parking.

The Living Room: is open plan with a cosy wood burning stove (initial logs supplied) and doors opening out onto the rear courtyard garden. The sitting area has sofas and chairs, a rug over the quality wood style floor and a flatscreen Freeview TV/DVD and WiFi. The dining area has a table and chairs for four.

The Kitchen: is a galley style fitted kitchen with an electric double oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with ice box.

There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor.

Bedroom 1: a lovely master bedroom with a king size bed and two large windows looking over the rooftops of this historic town. This spacious room also has the original fireplace (not functioning) and a small TV.

Bedroom 2: is a compact double room with easy access to one side of the bed and a bit of a squeeze to the other! The views are out over trees towards the church. Please note the boiler is also in this room.

Bathroom: the simple bathroom has the original cast iron bath with electric shower over, WC,  basin and heated towel rail.

Outside: steps lead up to the cottage which has access around the side to the rear courtyard garden with table and chairs. Perfect for evening barbecues or relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

Beaumaris is a very popular little town in a stunning position. There is a lot to explore here; as well as the historic attractions, there are many good independent shops, cafes and quality restaurants and pubs. If you can tear yourself away, just down the road is Penmon Priory and Dovecote with a little toll road leading to Penmon Point, right opposite Puffin Island and its picturesque lighthouse. The nearby historic Plas Cadnant Gardens are stunning. Boat trips and rib rides can be taken to explore the coastline and its wildlife. Further again in either direction along the coast are popular sandy beaches such as Red Wharf Bay and Newborough Warren. The Snowdonia National Park is around 15 miles away for stunning scenery, mountain walking, biking and other adventure activities.

Reviews

Excellent little cottage in the centre of Beaumaris Anglesey. Everything you need is provided and very clean. Great location for all amenities and as a base to explore the island. Would not hesitate to visit again.

Mr G,

Comfy, cosy cottage in a perfect spot in Beaumaris. Parking not immediately outside the property but we didn’t struggle to find a spot close by.

Mrs M,

Very cosy. The garden is genuinely secure, which is not always the case when looking for a dog friendly place. Great location for the beach and all the towns facilities

Mr M,

Loved it so much we have just booked for a 3rd time.

Miss J,

This lovely property was ideally located for our Christmas break, all local amenities on our doorstep. We ventured out in between the stormy weather and relaxed in front of the fire whilst the wind blew outside!

Mr P,

The Nook was absolutely perfect- warm, clean and comfortable. Perfectly positioned for the town and for exploring the rest of Anglesey. We really enjoyed our stay

Mrs F,

The Nook is a lovely cosy cottage in a perfect location. And the packet of scones left was a lovely treat. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

Mrs L,

The cottage is in a great location, close to local amenities and the sea front. We enjoyed our week and appreciated the free milk and scones. There’s a great bakery just a few doors away too.

Prof H,

Lovely cottage. Great location.

Mrs M,

Everything good except there was an iron but no ironing board.

Mr David M,

We had a wonderful stay at The Nook. The cottage was comfortable, well equipped & in such a good spot. We found it to be very dog friendly as was Beaumaris itself. We will hopefully be back.

Mrs M,

It was a beautiful cottage in good location. Really well equipped and just as described.

Mrs Alison W,

We are regular visitors to the Nook and everything is spot on, from location to comfort , and local amenities.

Mr Rondell G,

Loved it

Miss Michaela J,

A very well appointed, very clean cottage in a great location. Local shops, pubs & restaurants just 2 minutes walk. Lovely woodburner to enjoy cosy nights in. A great place from which to explore the beautiful island of Anglesey

Mrs Hilary T,

7 Things to do around Beaumaris

This area is an incredibly beautiful and popular part of Anglesey, below are just 7 things close by that you could do in a weeks holiday.

1-Top of the list has to be a visit to the stunning Beaumaris Castle, built as part of Edward I's campaign to conquer the north of Wales! Great for all the family especially combined with a visit to the Victorian Gaol museum.

2 - It’s worth taking plenty of time to stroll through the town. There are lots of independent shops, art galleries, a lovely jewellery shop, a superb bakery (Central Bakery), good cafes and the famous Red Boat Ice cream parlour. For dining out try the Pier House Bistro or The Bull.

3 - Take a stroll along the sea front with its pretty pastel houses and really stunning views across the sea to the mountains of Snowdonia, a much photographed view and you will see why.

4 – Take a cruise down the Menai Straits or over to puffin island to spot the birds or seals. Or take a fishing trip. The boats leave from Beaumaris sea front.

5 – Beaumaris holds many events throughout the year. At the end of May is the Beaumaris arts festival, at the beginning of September is the popular food festival. Bonfire night is a big affair here and there is a Victorian Christmas festival at the end of November.

6 – A short scenic drive down the coast is the ancient Penmon Priory, church and Dovecote, all in a beautiful position, then stroll or drive down to Penmon Point for spectacular views to the lighthouse and over to Puffin Island.

7- Summer or winter, a visit to Beaumaris wouldn’t be complete without going to some of Anglesey’s beaches. The golden sands and popular summer resorts of Benllech, Moelfre and Lligwy are a short drive away and in the other direction, and perfect for winter walks, is Newborough with its little island and walking and biking forest trails.
