Description

The Coach House is a converted Grade II listed property, renovated with much love, to a high standard, and set in a beautiful, tranquil position. Situated in the grounds of Plas Gelliwig, The Coach House retains many fabulous architectural features and curiosities such as the large circular pond in the garden, stone archways and a little fountain. Now also a fire pit with seating area. This is in Botwnnog, you are 7 miles from Abersoch, 10 miles from Pwllheli and 25 miles from both Caernarfon and Porthmadog.

'Cool evenings or Autumn days, sitting around the fire pit in the grounds of this stunning property as the sun sets in the distance, what could be a better way of spending those precious holiday moments' from Jacky, our local property manager

The Cottage: is spacious and wonderfully styled, with modern wallpapered feature walls and interesting furniture and artefacts from around the world. Underfloor heating throughout. Private parking.

An arched entrance at the rear leads to an entrance hall with space for coats and shoes, and a ground floor WC with basin.

Living Room: is a large open plan room, full of light with large feature windows and patio doors leading to the patio, grounds and pond. The floor is tiled with underfloor heating and an additional modern woodburning stove (initial logs supplied). There is a Freeview TV/DVD and WiFi, comfortable sofas, and easy chairs for reading and admiring the views. The dining area has a wooden table and chairs.

Kitchen: is well equipped with a double oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, and utility room with washing machine.  A little breakfast bar has a hatch leading to the dining room, whilst a door leads to the enclosed rear seating area.

Open tread stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor. There are three beautiful bedrooms:

Bedroom1: a double with wooden floors and an en suite shower room

Bedroom2: a second double with door leading to exterior stone steps

Bedroom3:  a twin with antique French beds.

Bathrooms: there is no bath at this property. The family shower room is on the first floor along with an  En suite shower room. There is a ground floor cloakroom.

Outside: is a decked area with table and chairs and a further seating area to the rear. The large lawned garden has an open pond (unfenced - children to be supervised) with an unusual central pillar that is thought was once part of a dove cote. There is another seating area surrounding a lovely fire pit, ideal for the cooler months. Bike storage is available. Plentiful parking.

The Coach House is in a peaceful location yet within easy reach of some of the best beaches on the Llyn Peninsula, such as Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) - 5 miles, which is popular with surfers, Porth Coleman - 4 miles, and the popular Abersoch. Take your pick of beaches depending on whether you fancy relaxing for the day, eating at a beach cafe, swimming, taking part in watersports or walking the stunning coastal path. The National Trust's Plas yn Rhiw is 4 miles away and Porth y Swnt at Aberdaron, 6 miles. The nearest local shop is 2 miles away with further shops and supermarkets in Abersoch or Pwllheli. Day trips can be taken to Caernarfon for the castle, to the Snowdonia National Park or to Porthmadog for the Welsh Highland steam railway and Portmeirion Italianate village.

** Note the large pond is unfenced - children to be supervised **

Reviews

Would have been cosier with curtains or blinds, for at night time. The large pain of glass in the lounge window needs replacing!! Felt the stairs in the lounge, a bit unsafe particularly for children or elderly, walking into them? Lovely cottage, but in reality not as good as the picture when I googled it! Situation of the cottage down a rough lane disappointing, and not near any facilities.

Mrs Judy B,

Beautiful comfortable holiday property with lovely grounds. Overall a lovely stay!

Mrs M,

Very comfortable and well equipped and close to some beautiful beaches on the north coast of the peninsular. The only problem was the TV did not work properly. We managed to get BBC and ITV catch up but not live TV. This was not really a problem for us but a family with children may have found it difficult. We did report this to the owner.

Mrs Christine P,

A beautiful property. Everything we needed was available and more. Very clean when we arrived. We mostly visited the dog friendly beach (Hell’s beach) which was amazing. Great chilled holiday

Previous Customer,

We’ve had a wonderful stay. It was unfortunate that there wasn’t much good weather but when there was we enjoyed Abersoch Beach. I loved the garden here and living room. Hope to come again soon.

Past Customer,

Beautiful property and setting. Perfect for our week away and wonderful to see and hear so many birds and wildlife. Very peaceful. Would come back and stay again.

Past Customer,

Thank you for sharing your stunning home. Many thanks for the prosecco and starter pack. The Coach House was my sanctuary for a short while and I’ll remember it very fondly (until I return). What a beautiful location and with such a short drive to so many stunning beaches. Many thanks.
