Reviews

Had a fabulous week in Whitby. The property is outstanding with the attention to detail second to none. Great location too. Many thanks.

Mr S,

Luxury accommodation with parking. Good location for walking into town and for main road access for visiting other areas.

Mr C,

Highly recommend. Booked for son's 21st birthday. All 4 of us had a great time. Everything provided and first class. Thank you.

Mr M,

The property was lovely and clean with high spec decor. However, it was located near to a busy junction with a set of traffic lights which, made it quite noisy. Should the weather have been nice enough to sit outside the noise of the traffic would have made it impossible to do so. In addition the outside seating area was left covered in debris and should have been cleaned prior to our arrival. We would not rebook this property for the negative reasons outlined.

Mr John H,

Excellent facilities - It had everything you could wish for in a property and more!

Mrs L,

Needed a short break away and so please we found this beautiful cottage in which to spend it. Had unexpected good weather which was an added bonus. Cottage was so warm and cosy with everything you could need. Thank you very much and for the gorgeous welcome hamper.

Past Customer,

Lovely property well situated for walks and eating out and exploring Whitby. Well equipped and well presented property. A great place to stay.

Mrs S,

Excellent property, a home from home!

Mrs N,

Property is beautifully furnished and equipped, however i have marked down slightly as I was disappointed that on arrival there was no heating on, it was one of the coldest weekends of the year, also a 4pm arrival is not convenient during december as already dark, other properties we have stayed in this year have allowed check in at 2 or 3pm which would have been much better.

Mrs Pauline P,

Beautiful cottage, quality fixtures and fittings. Couldn't fault it

Mrs Julie F,

Location

Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
