Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. For a different day out, why not climb the famous 199 steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey. It's said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stokers Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town.

Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch. There's always something happening throughout the town , and festivals and fairs are held throughout the year including Whitby Goth Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta.

Reviews

We had the most fabulous little break. This property has all its originality and quirkiness in keeping with its surroundings. The views are stunning too! We were extremely impressed at how the property held heat for its age and credit to the owner for keeping an older property so well serviced. We would definitely look to stay at this property again.

Miss B,

Ideal location close to all amenities nice views and quiet even being close to bars and restaurants.

Mrs R,

What a lovely, clean perfectly positioned cottage with the most comfy beds . Lovely view over harbour , will definitely book again. Thank you.

Mr P,

The location of the cottage was lovely. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. It was really clean and lovely and warm. This is the forth time we have stayed here and have already booked a fifth Would recommend this cottage to people and it’s really good value for money.

Mrs C,

very cosy old cottage in a very nice location with lovely harbour views, and very central to the old port of whitby, very well equipped and everything you need for your stay.

Mr R,

Comfortable cottage in historic’yard’ we felt we were in the middle of Whitby life. Parking needed arranging and stairs quite steep, but then, in such a quirky and historic cottage one would expect. Equipped to a high standard in all parts.

Mrs Jill E,

The property was lovely, with a nice atmosphere, instantly welcoming and very good location. Very good standard of equipment particularly in the kitchen. It needs a refresh though, in terms of decor and furnishings, and probably the windows too.

Mr David H,

Parking was a big negative

Mrs Elizabeth R,

We have stayed at 1 arguments yard before, lovely cottage, great location, it has everything you need,

Mr Stephen W,

Ideal and comfortable cottage for us in a great location. Note: DAB radio in the kitchen is quite broken.
