Description

This stunning stable mews has been lovingly converted with oak staircase and plenty of space for two families wishing to holiday together. It also has excellent facilities for people with restricted mobility, including a wheelchair lift from the ground floor to the bedrooms, a ground floor wet room. There are four spacious bedrooms, two on each side of the staircase and two bathrooms. The attractive lounge has comfy seating and cosy log burner in inglenook fireplace, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine with friends or family. Both the lounge and the kitchen have patio doors out on to the enclosed courtyard garden, ideal for children and pets to play. The well-equipped kitchen offers ample space for families or groups of friends to dine together, and the handy utility room is a welcomed additional space. There is private parking for 1 car within the gates of the property, however an additional space is available next to the garages, which is all within a secure gated system. The Stables really does offer high quality accommodation, allowing up to three pets and located in one of the most picturesque locations in North Devon, we are certain you will not be disappointed. The village of Lynton itself is in an area known as England’s Little Switzerland. This Victorian village has a lovely selection of shops, tea-rooms and cafés and boasts The Lyn and Exmoor Museum which is housed in St Vincent’s Cottage. It has some interesting exhibitions of Exmoor life, including information about the local lifeboat and the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway. Both Lynton and Lynmouth owe a great deal to Sir George Newnes, who in 1887 along with Thomas Hewitt, began to lay a 900 foot twin track up the steep gradient between the two villages. The unique water operated cliff railway was opened in 1890 and, apart from needing new track in 1908, operates now as it always has.

Reviews

This property is exceeded our expectations, location was perfect, spotlessly clean, very pet friendly. The owners were very helpful and provided great recommendations for a local Sunday Roast! An ideal property for large or 2 families to share. We plan to visit The Stables again for sure as we all had a fantastic time!

Mr W,

Excellent property within 5 minutes of the shops and sea, what more could you ask for.

Mr C,

Situated within Lynton town, opposite the cliff railway and close to shops, restaurants. Parking within the gated establishment for 2 cars, additional car parked in car park with parking permit. Good living arrangements, ample seating and very comfortable beds. Well equipped. Outdoor seating areas in the small garden. Very quiet location and a good base for touring the north Devon area.

Mrs P,

Absolutely wonderful

Mrs T,

we this property hired for our hiking holiday as it was close to the SW Coastal path and it was beyond our expectations. It was so well equipped in the kitchen better than my own! the lounge was delightful and all the beds were very comfy. We have hired a few houses for our hiking holidays and this one was the best and had a great layout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lynton

Ms B,

The Stables is a lovely property right in the centre of Lynton, where we have been regular visitors for decades – testimony to the location! The photos didn’t do the living room and kitchen justice, they were large, bright and airy spaces for relaxing and sharing time with others. We really liked the upstairs arrangement too, where two families could have private bedrooms and bathrooms. The outside space was small but adequate for our needs. It was well equipped, a lot of the cupboards were utilised as storage. There wasn’t a key safe or a safe in the property which sleeps 8, and there is only one key, this made it difficult to be independent without compromising the security of our belongings and corporate equipment, so a key safe would be a ‘wish-list’ item for us. Only a small thing, but the hedge was overgrown making it tricky to comfortably put the gate on and off the hook, but a quick trim would fix that! It was difficult to want for anything in this property, I would put it in the top 5 properties we have visited in this area and I would have no hesitation recommending it.

Mrs Rita E,
