Description

Aldeburgh Dawn is a beautifully situated second-floor apartment in the heart of the town. Simply and tastefully furnished, it feels more like a home than a holiday let. From the large, airy living room you can gaze over the rooftops to the ever-changing colours of the sea - the dawns are often spectacular. Two balconies, from the kitchen and bedroom, offer far-reaching views towards the houses and gardens of The Terrace. The ancient Cross Keys Pub and the High Street shops (including a superb butcher's and the famous Lawson's deli) and restaurants are a stone's throw. A perfect holiday idyll. Shop: 50 yards Pub: 50 yards.

Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

Lovely apartment, well equipped in a great location. Parking space is a real bonus.

Mr F,

Great location, could just see the sea but you may need to be wary of 2 flights of winding stairs to the flat. The allocated Parking space is pretty tight. A large car may struggle. Property in need of some TLC.

Mr C,

Very comfortable and great location.

Mrs S,

Couple of things to feedback: TV would only pick up BBC channels (none of the other main 4). The fire extinguisher was out of date which important for a second floor flat. There were no recycling details - we know you have to recycle glass at the recycle points in Aldeburgh (having stayed elsewhere before) but the bin store was full of glass which needed recycling. There were very few mats for cups/plates - there was a note saying to use mats but there were hardly any. The flat was clean overall (bedding and bathroom) but there were things like crumbs still on the floor by the table and on the table from the previous people. There was no maintenance or feedback book - which would have been useful to leave this feedback in. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the above did not detract from our stay and we would definitely book Aldeburgh Sawn again due to the location and view.

Mrs Clare G,

The property was in a great location with parking. Shops and restaurants within a few meters. Very comfortable. Great views to watch the world go by.

Mr John D,

thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment

Mrs G,

Lovely apartment, well equipped and comfortable, great shower. Parking space a bonus. Very close to restaurants and pubs. Two flights of stairs to reach the apartment
