This 19th century cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to an extremely high standard and with more than a nod towards contemporary nautical style. Set in the heart of the town of Shaldon, this cottage offers everything you could need within walking distance as well as river view peeps from the lounge complete with bobbing boats in the distance.

This upside down accommodation boasts one family wet room and is just a short stroll to the water's edge and local shops, restaurants & pubs. Parking can be found around the green & residential roads or The Ness Car Park

Ground floor
Oyster Cottage makes the most of the it's river views by offering upside down living. The ground floor entrance will takes you to the attractive and modern ground floor double bedroom with built in wardrobe which is complimented by the fun and spacious bunk bed room for the children or adults. On the ground level too is the family shower room with its stunning stone tiles and contemporary fittings. With a spacious walk-in shower, WC, sink & towel radiator, this is a newly fitted shower room that you will love. A lovely stone tiled floor in the hallway gives this level an earthy warmth.

First floor
Stairs from the ground floor bedrooms take you to the first floor living space. Here you will find views of the village green from the dining window and river peeps from the lounge window. The open plan living room with it's raised vaulted ceiling is highly sociable with comfortable sofas and chairs and even a sofa bed to give more sleeping options. The flat screen TV/DVD gives you entertainment options while the high specification appliances in the kitchen including a waste disposal, washing machine and dishwasher allow you to relax as much as possible.

A dining table for six (plus a high chair if needed) set next to the large floor to ceiling opening window and is a perfect spot for breakfast, although you will want to eat and run so you can enjoy the beautiful village you have chosen for your holiday.

A further utility area in the kitchen conceals the washing machine, iron, airer and vacuum cleaner.

Outside
Just a short stride across the green from the from door of the cottage is The London Inn - a very popular choice for quality meals and a leisurely evening drink. Alternatively, you can watch the bowling on the green for a more relaxed form of entertainment if you catch the players in full swing! Part of the green, is also available to the public and features a park bench.

Parking
This property offers street parking available outside the cottage & around the green or residential roads in close proximity to the cottage. Alternatively, a week's parking permit can be purchased for The Ness car park which is a 15 min. walk away.

Location
The cottage is situated on Shaldon's village green where there is seating, or you can lay out a rug. You can relax there and watch the world go by, let your children play or enjoy a picnic. Alternatively, you could always have fish & chips or a BBQ on Shaldon beach or Ness Cove ~ the choice is yours!

Central village location overlooking the popular Bowling Club Green and less than 100 metres from Shaldon's popular sandy beach. The village has excellent restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops all within easy walking distance and sailing, Shaldon's Approach 18 hole golf course, Shaldon zoo and Botanical Gardens are also close by.

Things to do
Two miles away is the excellent Teignmouth Golf Course designed by the Augusta National architect. Shaldon's elegant Georgian architecture, fisherman's cottages and narrow streets exude charm. Throughout the year there are activities, festivals and the very popular Regatta in August.

The cottage is ideal for all weathers and seasons. It is close to the beaches, the green and all facilities. Perfect for fishing and crabbing. The cottage is very light and airy and has wonderful views over the river and countryside from large picture windows, which can be appreciated at any time of day.

Village shops include; award winning butchers, excellent bakery, pharmacy, Post Office, convenience village store, hairdressers, barber, gift & craft shops, The Sail Loft & Tom Thumb boutiques.
