Location:

A gem of a holiday base.

Excellent holiday situation, in the small village of Sidford, on the outskirts of the popular coastal town of Sidmouth. Conveniently, under a 10-minute walk to the village centre, with Spar shop, fish & chip shop, The Rising Sun pub/restaurant and other businesses. The famous Blue Ball Inn is under a 5-minute walk.

Just over half a mile to the popular walk along the National Trust, ‘The Byes’, a 2-mile riverside, picturesque walk with winding footpaths through parkland, wild flower meadows and fields along the River Sid from Sidford to the sea at Sidmouth.

Visit the famous beautiful Sidmouth ‘Connaught Gardens’ with a fascinating range of plants and award winning Clock Tower Tearooms and Restaurant café. From these gardens a flight of steps called ‘Jacobs Ladder’ takes you down to the sandy beach below. Take a guided tour around the town and follow the Sidmouth’s Blue Plaque Trail seeing many historic sites.

Stunning cliff top walks along the Jurassic Coast, part of the South West Coast Path to Weston and Branscombe in one direction and Ladram Bay in the other.

The picture postcard village of Branscombe with working forge, old bakery tea rooms, mill, two traditional inns serving excellent food and the fishing village of Beer with the Quarry Caves and Pecorama model railway/pleasure gardens are a 15-minute drive. En-route pass by The Norman Lockyer Observatory at Salcombe Regis and then onto the famous Donkey Sanctuary with excellent café/restaurant at Weston.

Lyme Regis, known as ‘The Pearl of Dorset’ famous for its historical Cobb and fossil hunting is a 25-minute drive. The coastal towns of Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth are also an easy drive away.

An ideal location for a beach holiday for couples wishing for a seaside holiday with stunning spectacular coastal footpaths over the cliff tops and exploring the many delights on the Devon/Dorset border.

Reviews

I cannot fault this lovely apartment which is situated next door to the owners. It is quite deep and roomy and has all the necessary mod cons. It also looks out onto a lovely green rolling landscape. The owners did everything they could to make us feel welcome when we arrived and let us know they were there for us if need be. We had a very pleasant stay, thank you so much.

Mr D,

A lovely homely property very well situated to access the Byes beautiful walk along the river Sid into Sidmouth.

Mrs T,

A very well equipped and looked after property giving plenty of space for a large dog. A good base for accessing coastal resorts in this area, a local pub for food and nearby shop & supermarket.

Mrs P,

It would be quite impossible to find a negative comment to make about Little Hollies in Sidford. EVERYTHING was excellent and we felt hugely comfortable there even if the weather was dreadful (February) for much of the time. The welcoming basket of "goodies" was outstanding and the bed was very comfortable. The view out over Sidmouth was gorgeous. So, we can only say 10/10 from the Holmes'.

Mr H,

Little Hollies was the perfect accomodation for us. It was very clean and comfortable and we wanted for nothing. Just a short walk to the Byes leading to the town of Sidmouth, which we love. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this property.

Mrs T,

Little Hollies is a lovely, fully self-contained villa on a quiet side road close to the centre of Sidford, with a Spar, a chippy and the Blue Ball inn in easy walking distance, and a 2-mile drive into central Sidmouth. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped, and the owner provided a most useful and welcome hamper of goodies to tide us over on arrival.

Mr Kenneth C,

Unbelievably clean great welcome hamper, my only problem was that there is no shaver charger point in the bathroom so I couldn't recharge my electric toothbrush

Mr S,

Great property, everything you need and more.

Previous Customer,

It was a lovely cottage. The welcome basket is very welcome and appreciated and they catered for my allergies which are gluten wheat and dairy.
