EDWAR

A grand piano and mature lawn garden are just two of the many benefits you will experience when staying in this spacious Edwardian house on the outskirts of Ilfracombe. Owned by a family who has been in the town’s china, hardware and outfitting trade for nearly 100 years, The Edwardian House has been passed down from generation to generation and now provides a stunning home-from-home holiday experience for eight people. A magnificent entrance hall with period floor tiles and a display of some of the family’s fine collection of china, leads into the living room which has a grand piano, plenty of comfortable seating and a high ceiling. A separate dining room at the back of the house has a huge formal dining table, capable of seating ten people; whilst the modern fitted kitchen has a central breakfast bar and plenty of kitchen storage space. Next to the kitchen is a pantry, utility room and shower room providing space for a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there are four large bedrooms, all with decorative ornate fireplaces and a mix of artwork and historical prints which can be bought as holiday souvenirs. These rooms share the use of a family bathroom, separate shower room and an additional cloakroom. Outside, there is sufficient off-road parking for three cars, a lovely mature lawn garden with greenhouse, a storage shed, picnic table and additional chairs, a barbecue and rotary clothes dryer. The Edwardian House is not too far from the centre of Ilfracombe with its delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.

We've really enjoyed our stay in the Edwardian House. Our family are local to the town. A few of us live away and came back for my 26th birthday. Such a beautiful property and garden. Even lucky with so much sun! The kitchen is so well stocked for all our different meal each night. The beds are super comfy and very clean. 3 car parking spaces in this part of town has been a dream. Without realising upon booking this is a property that my Grandad used to garden. He thoroughly enjoyed revisiting. The piano is such a lovely touch. I enjoyed playing it again after 13 years! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Wow! What an exquisite gem of a house, yet it felt so homely. Came down from N. YORKS for a family wedding and hostel Sunday lunch for 14 in the dinning room, everyone was impressed by the house and all commented that it felt like a real family home, you can feel it had been well loved. We loved the watercolours. Nice touch.
