Description

Three Halfway Houses is a delightful 'railway cottage', Originally there was one house called Halfway House and the powers that be decided to build the railway very close to the house, so as compensation they built the three cottages (Halfway Houses) and gave them to the owner of Halfway House! In the village of Garsdale (5 miles away) there are some identical railway cottages. Although the railway still operates from Garsdale it closed here many years ago.

This property is a cosy, two bed-roomed cottage just half a mile from Hawes centre, It boasts an excellently equipped kitchen/dining and beautiful rooms throughout. There are stunning views from all of the windows overlooking the Wensleydale Countryside, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are many restaurants, public houses and unique shops in Hawes, a famous and bustling market town. Nearby attractions include the world-famous Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales countryside museum. Reviews

We enjoyed a lovely pre Christmas short break despite the weather! The cottage was very well prepared, warm, comfortable and well equipped. The views were spectacular and the cottage was within walking distance to Hawes. Parking was not a problem with space off road outside of the cottage.

Mr M,

A lovely cottage in a good position for Hawes, though walking down the road to the village was a bit hairy on some occasions - especially when it was raining (which, sadly, was often!). We guess the bed size is restricted by what can easily be carried up the v steep stairs - we found the bed a bit small. Overall a great cottage with fabulous views and everything necessary for a holiday - particularly a walking holiday. We never got to use the sitting out area, sadly, but we were very grateful for the electric towel rail and radiators which we had to use because of the unusually wet and cold weather. We were also very pleased that the cottage is dog free. Would recommend :-)

Mrs Jill P,

we have visited this cottage before and enjoyed each visit. I have no doubt that due to the cottages location which suits our needs perfectly we will visit again.

Mr C,

We thought the cottage was lovely, though there was a bit of mould and some dead woodlice this was probably due to the nature of the property. Otherwise it was very comfortable and a great base for our holiday.

Mrs Alex S,

A very comfortable stay whilst working at the Wensleydale Creamery. Perfect for relaxing, and a good nights sleep

Past Customer,

Excellent location. Great for what we wanted; hillwalking and a centre for that and that had shops, pubs close by. The kitchen would benefit from having some oven gloves!
