Huntingfield is a pretty little village located in the heart of the Suffolk countryside only five miles from the bustling market town of Halesworth. The village itself is most famous for St Mary’s Church and its impressive painted ceiling which brings people from miles around to view the masterpiece. Its will worth a visit if you get the chance. There is also a friendly village pub called the Huntingfield Arms which serves food. Best to call ahead if you plan a visit, just to confirm the opening times.

Surrounding the village is a wealth of footpaths waiting to be explored, which will take you across some of Suffolk’s most beautiful countryside no matter the time of year.

For a greater selection of shops, pubs and restaurants why not take the short drive to nearby Halesworth or if you fancy a trip to the coast the very popular holiday destination of Southwold and its long sandy beach is less than 30 minutes’ drive away.

Reviews

A gorgeous place to stay. The barn conversion kept original features with stunning timber structure yet was modern, with quality furnishings and a luxury feel especially stone floor with underfloor heating for a cosy ambience. Very comfortable in every way. Well equipped with everything that we needed. Games room was ideal for family fun. The setting was idyllic with access to garden, ponds and fields to wander round, and so peaceful. Situation was perfect for days out to historic towns and coastal villages, and plenty of good pubs for food in the area. All this was made even better by the warm and friendly welcome from Paul and Sandra. Totally recommend Dunnetts Farm Barn for a wonderful holiday.

Mr H,

Lovely cottage, very clean, fantastic facilities, warm cosy and has a fantastic view over the garden pond. Friendly owners who are on hand if required, but to be honest everything was easy to use and worked. Would thoroughly recommend.

Mrs M,

We had a lovely holiday. Our party included a disabled adult and SEN child, the facilities were perfect for both of them. The proprietors were so kind and helpful with them. We will hopefully return.

Mr P,

A fantastic holiday home, with Sandra and Paul being very friendly and hospitable and thought for everything! Thank you for making our stay with friends so enjoyable.

Mrs P,

Another wonderful week of peace and beauty. Thank you Paul and Sandra for making this wildlife paradise such an enjoyable place. A lovely place to escape to. Thank you Sandra and Paul for letting us share all this with you. The pitch and putt was fun, the films amazing. Have enjoyed being here, picking blackberries, wild plums etc. So much to see and do. We leave reluctantly – but if you don’t go you can’t return. Thank you for an amazing week, the peace and calm worked its magic again and I can’t wait to return. Big thanks to Sandra and Paul, the perfect hosts and for sharing your wonderful films with us. Enjoyed my first ever round of golf, even though I was rubbish, maybe better next time! Just love being here.

Past Customer,

We all had a brilliant time, accommodation is magnificent – and watching England play on the big screen was amazing.

Past Customer,

It has all been said before! We have had a wonderful time in your beautifully, and thoughtfully developed, barn. There is everything here for all ages. We loved the wildlife videos – the badgers and owls were particular favourites. So many hidden gems in the area, including the Low House in Laxfield and the ceiling at St Mary’s church, Huntingfield. Many thanks from all of us.

Past Customer,

This is our third visit, which tells you a lot about how comfortable the barn is, and what a good base it is to explore the surrounding area. As usual, Paul and Sandra made us feel very welcome. An extra bonus this year was viewing Paul’s wild life videos and pictures on the ‘big screen’ – the Little Owl chicks were very cute.

Past Customer,

Although I have only been here for a few days, I have loved every minute and wish it could have been a longer visit. Thank you for a wonderful place

Past Customer,

Thank you once again, Sandra and Paul! Nothing was too much for you to ensure that we had a happy and restful time. Paul’s videos from his Train Cameras provided marvellous insight into the night life around the barn and its fields – a must see to view otters, badgers, foxes and assorted bird life. We are so happy to see how Sandra and Paul take care of the local wildlife and environment on the farm – providing a ‘safety net’ for our wild friends to take rest, eat and raise their young. After a 3 year absence due to the pandemic it was lovely to be here once again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Past Customer,

A week of dramatic weather – from sunshine and showers to gale force winds. We remained warm and cosy in this lovely barn with its beautiful view. We mixed coastal walks with watching the winter Olympics and running our own Olympic challenge using the games room and board games we brought with us. A perfect relaxing winter break. Thank you Paul and Sandra, we are sorry to be leaving.

Past Customer,

Return visit as enjoyable as the first. Beautiful weather and managed to fit a lot into our long weekend. Thanks for all the little extras such as the bread, milk, and bottle of fizz. Off now but look forward to returning again.

Past Customer,

Another lovely holiday at Dunnetts Farm was had by all. Glorious weather. Perfect for walking, biking. Been to Dunwich (lovely fish and chips from Café), Framlingham Castle. Also spent several lunch times at the Laxfield Low House, can recommend. Once again thank you Paul and Sandra for making us feel so welcome, great to see all the animals. We loved watching all the wild life captured on your trail cameras. Thank you for everything.

Past Customer,

Another great week at Dunnetts Farm, thank you Sandra and Paul. Thank you for your fabulous hospitality as always – and for the wildlife adventures! We loved our time at the pond this year – with the hammock being a fabulous addition! And it was great to meet Otis. See you again next year.

Past Customer,

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this barn, particularly the far reaching views and wildlife! We visited Dunwich Heath, Southwold, Thorpeness, Snape and Sutton Hoo. Would definitely recommend the Fox & Goose at Fressingfield for an evening meal! Thank you Sandra and Paul for being such wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our chats and look forward to returning sometime.

Past Customer,

Sandra and Paul, thank you for making us feel so welcome in your lovely home. We’ve had a thoroughly enjoyable week, helped by the beautiful weather. We’ve seen a lot of the wonderful Suffolk countryside. The house has had everything we needed, great instruction book.

Past Customer,

We all had a most delightful stay at your accommodation during the Jubilee weekend. So relaxing and very peaceful surroundings. Had some nice days out exploring. Your accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable. The men enjoyed the fishing at the lake. Would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend.

Past Customer,

We had a lovely week here in this beautiful barn. Such a beautiful place. The barn is so well equipped, every need is catered for. We all had a wonderful time. It was so relaxing. So much to see and do nearby. The countryside is stunning. Paul and Sandra were so welcoming. We loved the wildlife footage that had been captured so close by! Thank you for a memorable holiday

Past Customer,

A perfect bolt hole for a week away. We loved sitting out near the pond at the end of each day, watching the abundant bird life. The accommodation was very comfortable, with loads of “extras” and homely touches. Paul and Sandra were excellent hosts – full of useful advice. We would encourage future lodgers to ask to see Paul’s footage of the badger sett. All-in-all a very relaxing, comfortable home for a week

Past Customer,

A fantastic week spent in a superb barn conversion. Paul and Sandra are great, so attentive and full of knowledge of all the local amenities and wildlife. Shared some great footage of the badger sett with us. It’s a week we will never forget. Thank you

Past Customer,

Two wonderful weeks with our second family Sandra, Paul, Barney and Otis. We have just had the most lovely stay yet again and are already booked in for next year. Everything was as good as before but even more magical. The kids loved seeing the badgers, foxes and muntjacs on the camera footage. Thank you so much Paul for involving them with that, a real highlight of the visit. We particularly enjoyed the piggy trail at Eye, Framlingham Castle, swimming at Ubbeston Lodge, shopping in Aldeburgh and the Cheese Room at the Friday Street Barns. Thank you once again Sandra and Paul for a tremendously fun stay and for making us feel like family. We love you!
