Description

The owners of Corner Cottage have designed the inside to make the most of the amazing views over the estuary at Appledore by putting the living accommodation upstairs. As the name suggests, this cute two-bedroomed cottage is situated in the corner between two similar cottages and access to the front door is on foot due to the maze of narrow cobbled footpaths that give Appledore its charm. Stairs from the hallway lead up to the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. A large bay window at the front of the room has French doors which when fully open, create a balcony inside the living room where you can sit and take in the fabulous estuary view. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you can think of to rustle up a delicious holiday meal, whilst the living area is cosy with comfortable seating surrounding the television which has Freeview and DVD/CD player. A small cloakroom/WC completes the accommodation on the first floor. There are two bedrooms and a small bathroom on the ground floor; the double bedroom enjoys estuary views and the smaller bunk bedded room has 3ft bunks. The bottom bunk may suit one adult. The top bunk is very high - not suitable for smaller children or adults. Corner Cottage is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the quayside with its small range of pubs, shops and galleries. A seasonal ferry takes passengers across the estuary to the pretty little village of Instow, with its sheltered stretch of sandy beach and further choice of family friendly facilities. Historically celebrated for its artists and craftspeople, the village boasts an arts festival and the Appledore Crafts Company, an artist’s co-operative, showcases a broad range of arts and crafts from ceramics and photography to jewellery and painting. There are pleasant walks along the sunny, south-facing quay and local family attractions including The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and RHS Garden Rosemoor are all within a short drive.

Reviews

This has been our go to cottage holiday let in Appledore for several years now as it suits all of our needs.

Mr M,

Gorgeous little cottage on a very pretty little street with lovely views over the water. The bedrooms are small but perfectly formed and the lounge/kitchen area is nicely laid out and very well equipped. The only thing missing was Wi Fi (but I suppose if you're after an escape from it all, this could be seen as a benefit). Overall I would definitely recommend it.

Mrs M,

Cottage was as described on the website. It was very clean and well presented. Excellent location with the querky upside down arrangements. The views from both the bedroom and living room were fantastic. Very quiet even though the marvelous Beaver Inn is only a stones throw away. The location reminds you of the old times when fishermen worked from this town. An excellent base to explore the area.

Mr D,

This property was just as advertised on your site and we really enjo
