Description

Originally two fishermen’s cottages built in the 1850’s, Cuckoo Cottage now blends character and comfort in one in this beautiful holiday home in Blakeney village. With beams, pamment floors and cosy interiors, a striking feature at the centre of the cottage is the double sided wood burner – perfect for warming up after a winter walk across the marsh! The upstairs layout will suit families well with interlinked bedrooms and bathroom; the bathroom has a beautiful view from its window across the marshes to the sea beyond. Located just moments from the village centre and some stunning coastal walks you can also catch the ever-popular Coast Hopper bus near to the cottage, which will take you anywhere from Hunstanton to Cromer for perfect coastal cruising! Heating: Electric Central Heating, Night Storage Heating, Woodburner.
Pets: One well-behaved dog welcome. Please be aware of our booking information regarding pets.

Notes: This is a non-smoking property. All bedding is Egyptian Cotton. No sunday changeovers.

Blakeney with its harbour, marshes and stunning scenery is a hotspot for a great coastal holiday. Within easy walking distance of the cottage there are several places to eat; a local delicatessen, a general store and the North Norfolk Coastal path can be easily picked up, which is great for birdwatching and walking. The walk to Morston on the coastal path is just over a mile and with a lunch at The Anchor when you get there, it is a lovely way to spend the day, as is a trip to see the local seal colony at Blakeney Point. The village also has some interesting art galleries, gift shops and The Blakeney Harbour Rooms has a growing reputation for showcasing some good tribute bands. This stunning diverse coast is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are fantastic sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham with beautiful Holkham Hall and deer park also in the village, both a short drive away. In the summer visit Wiveton Hall - now a well-known landmark following the BBC's Normal for Norfolk programme. Stop in the cafe to admire the beautiful marsh views with a cup of tea and pick your own raspberries and strawberries from the fruit farm - it's all normal for Norfolk!

We had a lovely family holiday at Cuckoo Cottage! Fantastic location, nice and close to the centre of Blakeney. A play park 5 mins walk away was perfect for our 2 young children too, as well as a lovely local bakery for the fresh pastries. Blakeney is a great location for a local beaches too, Sheringham and Wells Next To The Sea. The Blakeney regatta was taking place when we stayed too, which was fun to watch and take part in! The cottage has great facilities, including washing machine and dishwasher. Parking is a little walk away, bear in mind for your stay. Small courtyard was handy for drying washing too. Lovely stay and lovely cottage thank you.
