Overstand is a beautiful village on the Norfolk coast with an array of interesting buildings including three by Edward Lutyens, giving this village a wealth of charm. Still a reasonably undiscovered area on the Norfolk coast, it’s great for walks with family and friends along the vast stretch of golden, sandy beach. The quaint village shop, restaurants and pub are within walking distance in this idyllic village, which also boasts a wonderful clifftop café. From Sea Salt's bedroom window you can watch the fishermen harvest crabs and lobsters and then you can buy them fresh at the shop on the clifftop. Just two miles away is the Victorian seaside town of Cromer, a great place to go for a traditional fish and chips, take in an end of pier show or tee off at the Royal Cromer Golf Course. You may decide to catch a steam train from the neighbouring town of Sheringham, where the end of the line takes you to the elegant Georgian town of Holt, a lovely place to explore that is filled with individual, independent shops and eateries.

Reviews

This cottage is stunning! The view of the North Sea is to die for and the property was exceptionally well equipped. I would thoroughly recommend Sea Salt.

Mrs M,

Sea Salt is a fantastic house in an incredible location. It's amazing waking up and looking out to sea every day, watching the sunrise and just minutes walk to the beach for our daily surfing. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with loads of personal touches that add to the seaside feel. Pub and hotel within 2 minutes of the house with great food and children's play areas. Highly recommend.

Mrs M,

A beautiful, quiet property with the most wonderful sea views. Clean, well-equipped and comfortable, it was pretty much as described on the property listing. The Overstrand village store is just a short walk away, as is the seafront, and Norfolk coastal path. We loved the Cliff Top Cafe in the village.

Mrs D,

The only negative feedback we could give would be a few areas that could have been a bit cleaner. We found a sock under the table with the lamps on behind the sofa. A few dead bugs on windowsills. Pulled the blinds up in the main bedroom to find a clump of hair, hadn't been swept in a while! Also found someone's medication leaflet under the kitchen table. Nothing major and on the whole a lovely stay! Just for the premium price felt these things should have been noticed. Many thanks, Emma

Mrs Emma G,

The cottage was tastefully set out, with many interesting and quirky features. Second bedroom lacked facilities and was small for two people. Overall decor, furnishings were very in keeping and the dining room/snug was more than generous. Kitchen was well equipped and crockery/cutlery in abundance. Some areas would benefit from a deep clean.

Mrs Martina G,

The property was pleasant with an excellent location, however the property is not maintained or cleaned to the standard expected of a 5 star gold property. I feel that the rating and pricing needs to be reviewed. On arrival various kitchen equipment was dirty, the property was generally dusty, the blinds did not function well (we were unable to lower some), the kettle needed descaling, we didn’t use the Nespresso machine as it was unclean, the drink dispenser/ice machine in the fridge freezer was also dirty and the rugs were dirty and stained. All in all this property did not meet our expectations of a 5 star gold property. From reading the visitors book in the property the issues have clearly been ongoing for some time and have not been addressed.

mrs Michelle S,

Lovely place, perfect location. House was comfortable and well equipped. We had a very relaxing time, the main bedroom with the sea view was breathtaking. We hope to return
