Description

The Wee Retreat is a unique property and one we are delighted to market as its history story and property are so unusual. Converted from a traditional Victorian toilet block the property was bought by the owner as a present for his wife. What vision! Now, transformed into a property with attractive accommodation that is well equipped and very comfortable. The views to the sea are amazing and the beach is your playground. A stunning transformation!  Shop/Pubs: 0.25 miles walk along the sea front

Ground Floor:
Open Plan Sitting Area with comfortable seating, flat screen TV with Freesat, CD player, DVD player, sliding doors to enclosed veranda with stunning sea views Kitchen/Dining Area with electric oven, electric induction hob and fridge with ice box, breakfast bar and two stools

Lower Ground Floor:
Accessed via a spiral staircase
Bedroom 2 with a double bed
Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and wc

First Floor:
Accessed via a spiral staircase
Bedroom 1 with a double bed and En-Suite Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and wc. French doors open to enclosed veranda, stunning sea views

Parking: Roadside at the top of the slope or public car park.
Heating: Under floor heating on all floors, via air source heat pump.
Also Provided: Towels. Books and games.
Notes: This is a non-smoking property. Wee Retreat is small but perfectly formed! The size restriction does mean that seating for dining is limited; the balcony furniture can be used to seat four in conjunction with the breakfast bar. Please give us a call if you have any questions. Mobile signal is weak if the tide is out on the beach or good from the top of the slope. Unloading and loading is possible at the bottom of the slope for a very short period, steps and a steep slope, may make this property unsuitable for guests with mobility difficulties. We do not feel that this property is suitable for children under the age of 8 years.

Reviews

A lovely place to stay where you can sit and watch the sea all day if you wish. The Wee Retreat was clean and tidy with under floor heating if it turned chilly. I would thoroughly recommend it

mrs N,

The website mentioned a welcome pack, however the only thing provided was a pint of milk. I feel for the price of the property, at the least there would have been salt pepper and olive oil for the kitchen and handsoap for the bathrooms.

Ms Jude B,

When we arrived at the property both bathroom sinks were grimy (my husband had to buy some wipes to clean them & the toilet seats), the floor in the main living area had clearly not been swept that day as it was pretty dirty, the TV in the downstairs bedroom would not work as 2 AAA batteries were missing from one of the remotes, there was a small amount of soap provided in the upstairs bathroom but none downstairs which was a bit disappointing for my mum. The location of this property is excellent but I do think more importance should be given to the cleaning of it, especially on arrival day.

Mrs Helen S,

Lack of attention to detail. Four poor quality bath towels ,only two poor quality hand towels & only one bath floor mat. No welcome pack ….unless you count the opened half used pint of milk in fridge ( presume cleaner didn’t open & clean) & half used toilet roll & odd t bags & condiment bits etc just slung in cupboard ( presume left by previous guests). Fridge freezer door held shut with bit of rolled up paper due to broken handle. Cob webs around property . One drinking glass , others stem glasses , really think crockery etc should be checked as part of cleaning & replace if missing items, adding odd different pattern & colour items gives an impression of “ that will do” not what I expect for the price paid. Underfloor heating we presume turned off , lovely & warm on arrival ( wet & cold) rest of week not needed as mild but Fri 12th rain & cold turned up thermostats no heating kicked in , not a prob as we always bring an electric fan heater in case of this . Property information folder found towards end of week in cupboard. It’s such a shame that this gorgeous property is let down by some basic attention to detail. The check out & check in times give plenty of time for the property to be prepared , such a shame that it is let down by attention to detail . I hope this feedback honestly given will enable little things to be tweaked to bring it up to a 5 star review

Mrs Tracey S,

Great location, most expensive place we have paid definitely the most disappointing welcome pack ever which consisted on 1pint of milk and two toilet rolls. It would probably be best not to advertise a welcome pack in your brochure. Scored 3 for equipment as we didn't cook so don't know if it would have been adequate

Mrs Kim E,

There was no washing up liquid in the kitchen and a wooden spoon would have been helpful along with a few plastic tupperware containers as I wouldn't expect to have to bring those items with me. Other than that the accommodation was brilliant and we had a fantastic week.

Mrs Sally W,
