This delightful cottage is situated in the heart of Polruan but tucked away from it all with its own secret, walled patio garden, behind a locked gate. The south-facing patio has a distinctly Mediterranean feel with its cascading plants, terracotta flowerpots and stable door leading into a colourful kitchen. The Hideaway has been beautifully finished, with careful styling and lots of home comforts. Much more spacious than it initially appears you will be pleasantly surprised and are sure to find it a perfect bolt-hole for a romantic escape for two or somewhere to go with friends for a holiday together.
Polruan is situated across the water from Fowey and has a range of local shops, cafes and two good village pubs just a short stroll away from the cottage. The harbourside, with its constant activity, and glorious coastal walks are right on your doorstep, A passenger ferry operating all year round can take you across the river on foot or alternatively a 10 minute drive will take you to the Bodinnick Car Ferry.

Lovely Cottage, perfect location, with sine great walks. Would stay again!
We loved our time at The Hideaway, definitely home from home. The courtyard is a real suntrap too. Favourite walk is the Hall Walk and favourite eating place - North Street Kitchen in Fowey.
All quite wonderful - beautiful cottage. We had amazing weather. Wonderful scenery. Full of memories. Such a joy!
A delightful house with wonderful ambience - we had a wonderful holiday here. A joy.
A wonderful stay at the Hideaway. I absolutely love the cottage. It is a great location. Polruan is beautiful, we will be back.
One of the best cottages we have stayed in. The Hideaway, Polruan provided a much needed break from the daily grind!
Wow - what a week we had! Perfect cottage and the area was stunning. One of the best stays yet in Cornwall. We come every year and try new places - but would 100% come back to The Hideaway, Polruan. By the way the bed is next level!
We had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway, Polruan. It is very cosy and comfortable - thank you very much.
The cottage was fantastic, lovely and clean and very well equipped with everything you would need.
This comfortable, spacious and well equipped cottage is at the heart of the beautiful and peaceful village of Polruan. The village has a shop, bakery, ice cream shop, two pubs (with great food to eat by the harbour), a small beach, ferry to Fowey, and is also set on the coastal path. Access is via small single track roads, but the location and house could not have been more ideal for us. Excellent information provided by Cornish Horizons. Thank you.
The Hideaway, Polruan was just right for us - we normally stay in Fowey but really liked Polruan and the property was clean, comfortable and had character. The house is in a good location and we would certainly recommend staying there to our friends and family.
This is a lovely cottage and far more spacious than the pictures make it look. The garden is also secure for any pets and very private. We all enjoyed our stay in this lovely comfortable and charming cottage. We will be returning!
The perfect holiday in a perfect holiday cottage! Amazing 4 Nights stay at The Hideaway, Polruan. the cottage was the cosy retreat we needed with everything thought of and so comfortable and luxurious. Best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Thank you!
The best cottage we have ever stayed in. We will be back! So nice to have a comfy bed on holiday. You have though tof everything. We loved it and had the best weather too :-)
Polruan's position on a headland jutting out into the estuary meant that it once had great importance as a lookout point. Now, visitors can share the same commanding views from the headland looking out to sea, and across to Fowey on the far bank.
Up here is also the spectacularly beautiful Headland Garden, which has unexpectedly become known for more exotic flora than you might expect to find in this little corner of Cornwall. This has allowed it to be discovered and promoted far and wide.
While up here, gazing out into the distance, you may spot sea birds and other wildlife, and maybe even the odd seal. Much of the area is not only an AONB, but also a Special Area of Conservation, so that it can be preserved for future generations.
Like most villages in the area, the primary industry has always been fishing, however the locals are very welcoming to visitors, and tourism has taken its place.
Walkers will find the landscape to be ideal for hiking, or if you prefer just a gentle stroll, there are lots of options available. Upon your return, you can relax with a meal or drink in The Lugger Inn, or hop on the ferry and visit one of the pubs or cafes in Fowey.
