Reviews

Dolls House cottage is a lovely place to stay in Fowey. There are lots of great places to visit in Fowey and in the area. We visited the nearby places of Charleston, Looe, Mevagissey, Polruan and Falmouth which were all real highlights. The house is close enough to town to walk to go to the shops, pubs and restaurants. The cottage is a lovely place which is nicely decorated and it is a real bonus that it has its own parking space. The shower was fab (just needed to be far more private with a blind). Would definitely recommend staying at the cottage but be mindful that it’s at the top of a hill so walking back might not be easy for those who are less active.

Miss T,

Great property but be prepared it is right at the top of the town and a long hike up and down but dies advantage of car parking to enable getting out abs about without 2 mile walk to a car park.

Mr G,

Fantastic little cottage. Beautiful location in the heart of Fowey. Would stay here again. Thank you.

Mr Steve T,

Good location for Fowey and the surrounding area. A nice cottage for a short break.

Mr Dave F,

Great location for exploring Fowey and it's environs. Well equipped cottage-a toilet roll holder would be a useful addition!

Mr Barry T,

Thank you, we enjoyed our stay. Nice comfortable property in an ideal location.

Miss Janet B,

Beautiful cottage. We really enjoyed celebrating Brian's 76th birthday with our daughters, husbands and one of our grandsons. Even the weather could not dampen the lovely time we had. Perhaps a wall clock might be in order? Stylish furnishings and comfy bed, all added to home from home feeling. Thank you. P.S. The switch to the shower should be left on. It's in the bedroom to the right of the bathroom door, down low. We didn't know and had to have help.

Mrs Louise P,

This property was well situated at the top of Fowey, which is only a short distance to the harbour. The parking space is directly at the front of the property and is allocated. The facilities are to a high standard, bed is comfy as is the living quarters upstairs. All in all a very good property in a beautiful location.

Mr T,

This property in our honest opinion is a brilliant holiday apartment and we will be booking again for 2024, we did have one issue which was that the bed or the bedding which looked immaculate but smelt of sweat ? I don’t know whether the cleaners have not dried the bedding properly but it was not very nice to sleep in but we did not have much of an option. We also have one suggestion that we feel would make it more comfortable upstairs in the living room which would be to get another 2 seater sofa instead of the 2 chairs. I am sure that the bed matter is just an oversight but if we didn’t say anything it might happen again.

Mr G,

Very comfortable cottage with parking immediately outside - rare in Fowey! Highly recommended.

Mrs N,

Location

If you haven't yet discovered Fowey, you've got a treat in store.  Full of multicoloured cottages, perched on the hillsides leading down to the sea, this little fishing town has lots to tempt visitors.

There is an entrancing collection of unique local shops and boutiques, along with harbourside cafes, pubs which will give you a hearty welcome and a good atmosphere, and restaurants offering tempting local produce.  If you want a unique insight into the local species in these waters, you could visit Fowey Aquarium, whose residents include specimens brought in by local fishermen.

If you're a fan of Daphne du Maurier, you may want to visit the Literary Centre, which gives information and exhibits about the author and her life and work.  There is also the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, held in May, in which du Maurier, and many other authors, artists and musicians, are celebrated.  Another great spectacle is the Fowey Royal Regatta, held in August.

Fowey lies within one of the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and the backdrop of the surrounding countryside, with its tidal creeks, rolling fields and rugged cliffs, will make you want to return here again and again.
