Lovely house in a great location.

Mrs H,

This is a beautiful house with a lovely terrace, opening out from the kitchen. A good place to watch all the life on the estuary. The bedrooms are comfortable. showers and bathrooms are a really high standard.

Ms S,

Stunning property. The views over Fowey harbour and out to sea are incredible. Would highly recommend.

Mrs O,

The house is in a great location on the Esplanade. The views from the living room, kitchen and main bedroom are amazing. You feel as if the river comes right up to the window. We spent a lot of time watching the activity on the river, including the ferry and a number of fishing vessels. The house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Plenty of kitchen equipment if you feel like cooking. The wood burner in the living room was easy to use and gave the room a very cozy feel. We had a great relaxing time and can't wait to return.

Previous Customer,

The property is perfect. The view from the deck and lounge windows is one of the best in Fowey. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Enough space for a large group to spread out. I think it is important to note that the spiral stairs go from the basement to the top floor and take a bit of getting used to. We had a 6 month old infant with us. Cornish Horizons were extremely helpful when we had a problem with a smoke alarm beeping and the problem was solved quickly and efficiently.

Mr T,

This is a really fantastic house. We've been coming here since it was first available and love throwing open the front door (as if it were ours) to friends and family who haven't been before and getting "Wow" or a gasp of breath every time. The views over the estuary are stunning. The kitchen gives onto a terrace with doors that can open right up. - New improved views this year with removal of a raised flower bed. It is very well equipped and very comfortable. The position, by Whitehouse Loan means that it's quiet compared to the often crowded centre of Fowey. Just a couple of minutes to the ferry and away to Polruan.

Ms S,

Location was perfect - so close to the centre but also convenient for beaches, coastal path, ferry, etc. The house is so light and spacious with a variety of seating areas. The little study was a bonus quiet work space.

Mrs A,

We loved our stay at 51 Esplanade, first impressions as we walked through the front door were great especially the view of the estuary, one could while away the days just sat in the bay window watching the ever changing picture! Ideal location for shops, cafes and restaurants of Fowey. House was well furnished and stylish. Only downside for some to consider is the very steep, narrow circular staircase which could be a problem for young children and anyone with mobility issues.

Mrs W,

If you haven't yet discovered Fowey, you've got a treat in store.  Full of multicoloured cottages, perched on the hillsides leading down to the sea, this little fishing town has lots to tempt visitors.

There is an entrancing collection of unique local shops and boutiques, along with harbourside cafes, pubs which will give you a hearty welcome and a good atmosphere, and restaurants offering tempting local produce.  If you want a unique insight into the local species in these waters, you could visit Fowey Aquarium, whose residents include specimens brought in by local fishermen.

If you're a fan of Daphne du Maurier, you may want to visit the Literary Centre, which gives information and exhibits about the author and her life and work.  There is also the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, held in May, in which du Maurier, and many other authors, artists and musicians, are celebrated.  Another great spectacle is the Fowey Royal Regatta, held in August.

Fowey lies within one of the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and the backdrop of the surrounding countryside, with its tidal creeks, rolling fields and rugged cliffs, will make you want to return here again and again.
