Cottages in Walmer

If you’re searching for a seaside holiday to remember, why not take a look at our holiday cottages in Walmer on the Kent coast? Located in the district of Dover and just a short distance from neighbouring Deal, Walmer is a seaside town steeped in history and charm. Browse through our collection of Walmer self-catering cottages today and find the perfect abode for you and your loved ones to enjoy a well-deserved break on the Kent coast. We also have dog-friendly and luxury cottages in Walmer and across our Kent cottages collection.

Like much of the Kent coast, Walmer is one of the original Cinque Port towns which date back to the medieval period. Walmer’s mighty castle was built as one of many of the strategic defenses to protect the Cinque Ports and England during the 16th century and remains the town’s biggest attraction. The castle itself is very well preserved and open to the public, but it is the formal gardens that really make Walmer Castle a standout attraction.

The beach at Walmer is connected to Deal beach, but is generally considered the quieter, more relaxed section. There are no dog restrictions on the beach either, making it the perfect place for a dog-friendly holiday. Great for a walk, paddle, a spot of fishing, Walmer beach is a really relaxing spot, perfect for those who enjoy a day by the sea taking in the fresh sea air and listening to the waves lap against the shore.

In the town centre you will find a number of amenities. If you enjoy a spot of retail therapy whilst on your jollies than you’ll be spoilt for choice with Walmer’s range of high street shops, including plenty of local, independent shops. There are lots of places to grab a tasty treat across Walmer, where eateries cover everything from classic seaside fish and chips to hot and scrumptious woodfired pizzas.

With Deal just around the corner, Sandwich to the north and Dover’s white cliffs to the south, Walmer couldn’t be in a better spot for exploring this beautiful stretch of the Kent coast. All that’s left to do is book one of our fabulous Walmer cottages (or take a look at all of our Kent cottages) and get excited for your next adventure.
