Cottages in Sandwich

A medieval town in pristine condition, Sandwich on the Kent coast is picture perfect. We have a selection of holiday cottages in this historic coastal location, including some very characterful historic homes to match the local scenery. Whether you’re looking for the perfect coastal view for two, a pooch perfect pet-friendly escape, or a luxury cottage for ultimate family fun, our cottages in Sandwich have you covered.

Easily accessible from London, Sandwich is well situated for those wanting a coastal break in an historic town, and for golfers it’s a paradise with championship courses like Royal St. George’s, Princes and the Royal Cinque Ports. If you prefer a spot of swimming or paddling over teeing off, then you’ll be pleased to hear that Sandwich Bay is one of the best beaches on the Kent coast, and the equally lovely coastal spots of Deal and Rye are only a short distance away too.

The town's rich heritage and history is well showcased allowing holidaymakers to plan daily outings to nearby attractions such as the Guildhall Museum, White Mill Rural Heritage Centre and Richborough Roman Fort. You can also partake in a guided tour of Sandwich led by The Sandwich Local History Society.

As Kent is referred to by many as the Garden of England, it’s a county that certainly enjoys its fair share of formal gardens and Sandwich is no different. For those staying in the town, you can walk to The Salutation Gardens; a boutique hotel with a splendid floral display over 3.5 acres. Further out, and somewhat less managed but just as beautiful, is the Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory Trust. Here, you can join other enthusiasts and do a spot of bird watching - remember your binoculars!

A holiday wouldn’t be a holiday if you had to cook every night, so when it comes to eating out there are a number of establishments that cater for any time of day: breakfasts at the local cafe, freshly baked cake with afternoon tea and seafood suppers on the quay. For more casual dining, Sandwich has a choice of quality pubs and inns where you can sit comfortably at the bar with a pint of crisp ale.

14 miles away, the bustling and historic cathedral city of Canterbury plays host to our Canterbury cottages, and makes for a wonderful day trip from Sandwich. Take a look at our Sandwich cottages below, or if you're not set on a destination yet, explore all of our Kent holiday cottage options.
