Cottages in Deal

We have a range of beautiful properties to rent in the quaint, idyllic Kentish town of Deal. Deal is just a few miles north of Dover, and sports a bustling high street full of independent businesses, a glorious pebbly beach, and winding streets with a range of sweet period properties. Deal is a maritime town, with a rich naval history dating back to 55BC, when Julius Caesar is said to have landed there. There are 3 Tudor castles in the area, all built by Henry VIII as defensive forts, which are still open to visitors today. This page will take you through our unique, luxurious, and comfortable cottages to rent in Deal.

Our luxury properties in Deal offer you ultimate relaxation, with a range of amenities and features available in each home to ensure you have the most seamless holiday possible. Our dog-friendly and family-friendly Deal holiday cottages ensure that there is something to suit everyone. Whatever you are looking for when planning your trip to Deal and the East Kent Coast, our properties can provide.

Don’t be deceived by Deal’s small size, this is a seaside town with plenty of activities and amenities. Sporting an abundant maritime history, Deal celebrates its naval history and military roots. Deal Museum has a vast collection of historic artefacts to discover. Being just a few miles from Dover, Deal has always been of strategic significance to England’s defences from foreign invasion, and you can learn all about this by visiting Deal Castle, and Walmer Castle and Gardens, both built as artillery fortresses during the Tudor era. Sandown Castle was also built by Henry VIII for the same reasons but has unfortunately been victim of coastal erosion over the years. However, the ruins of the castle can still be visited, and the site has been converted into a three-tiered garden that is a must-see attraction.

If history isn’t your thing, or you want to explore beyond castles, Deal also has a very vibrant arts scene. The town is home to many art galleries and local artists. Deal Music and Arts Festival is an annual event which usually runs throughout the months of June and July, and hosts a range of folk, comedy and musical acts, as well as world-class dance performances.

Deal high street is home to a plethora of independent businesses and colourful buildings. After you have wandered through the shops, you might want to grab a bite to eat and a cold drink to rest your feet, and Deal has so much to offer you. Grab a gluten-free sweet treat at Kerry’s Bakehouse, tuck into some fresh seafood at Dunkerley’s Restaurant, or treat yourself to Michelin guide-approved cuisine at Frog and Scot.

It takes 20 minutes to walk the entire length of Deal’s promenade, and the town is perfectly placed in between the nearby coastal towns of Sandwich and Walmer. The iconic white cliffs of Dover are only a 15-minute bus ride away, and historic Canterbury is accessible by car, bus, and train. Browse our Deal properties below; or choose one of our holiday cottages in the quaint village of Eastry (6.5 miles) as a more rural alternative; or even expand your search to include cottages across Kent.
