Stay in the Peak District

The Peak District is famous for its literary links and many flock here to visit the stunning Chatsworth House, aka Pemberley from Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice. We have many holiday cottages in Bakewell (near Chatsworth), the village where Austen stayed many times during her life. Today, the village has traditional charm and cute shops, cafes and winding streets in abundance and is a great base for exploring the Eastern Peak District.

With a strong heritage of former spa towns, industrial history and rural communities Derbyshire is rich with places to visit and picturesque towns and villages. Holidaymakers may want to book one of our cottages in Ashbourne, Buxton or Matlock for example, are all popular with thousands of visitors each year. Local attractions take full advantage of the Peak District’s history, with venues such as The Richard Arkwright Experience in Cromford Mills and the Peak District Mining Museum really bringing history to life.

With so many historic sights, unique museums and an entire national park to explore on foot or by bike, the Peak District proves over and over to be a wonderful destination.
