Cottages in Padstow

Our handpicked collection of Padstow holiday cottages puts you right at the heart of one of North Cornwall’s favourite harbour towns. With hundreds of properties to choose from, we guarantee that you’ll find the perfect holiday match in our Padstow selection. Whether you’re hunting for a luxury home for a family getaway or a romantic cottage perfect for two, you’ll find it in Padstow. With the South West Coast Path passing through Padstow, you might feel like bringing your dog along for walkies, in which case you should explore our range of dog-friendly cottages in Padstow.

Sometimes referred to as ‘Padstein’, Padstow is renowned as the home to many of celebrity chef Rick Stein’s restaurants. His first restaurant, the Seafood Restaurant, opened in Padstow in 1975, but since then Stein has opened a cafe, patisserie, fish and chip restaurant and more in the town, making it somewhat of a foodie’s paradise.

Also dotted across the town are dozens of independent pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from. It would be hard to list all our favourites, but a highlight is Greens, which offers amazing views across the Camel Estuary and even a dog-friendly mini golf course – a great option for kids.

Padstow is situated on the Camel Estuary where the sandy shores and fine weather can feel positively Mediterranean in the summer months. St George’s Cove is Padstow’s closest beach, at just 0.5 miles away from the town’s harbour. The beach is beautiful and sandy, although swimming is not advised. There is a regular ferry service that takes you across to Rock Beach, which is just across the water from Padstow.

The Camel Valley Trail ends in Padstow, and cycling the stretch of the route between here and Wadebridge is a very popular activity for locals and tourists alike. You can hire bikes for all ages and abilities from various shops in the area, including Camel Valley Cycle Hire in Wadebridge. The route from Wadebridge to Padstow offers five miles of flat surface, making it a nice, gentle route with stunning views along the way.

There are also several of Cornwall’s most cherished attractions near Padstow, including the ever-popular Eden Project, which is just 20 minutes away. To find out more about what to expect from a Cornish holiday, take a look at our Cornwall Travel Guide. You can also browse our holiday cottages in nearby St Merryn, the sandy shores of Trevone Bay, and North Cornwall to get a real feel for the area before you book your Padstow retreat.
