There is a wealth of golf courses across the county, not least in the north where the mix of inland and coastal courses offers something for everyone.
Below is a list of courses to choose from, but just in case you're a golfer who decided to come on holiday without the clubs and shoes we've got that covered too.
Coastal Golf Classics
Alnmouth Golf Club- A coastal course with parkland turf and a reputation for its excellent conditioning. The fourth oldest club in England, situated in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
Bamburgh Castle Golf Club- Perched on basalt outcrops overlooking the ancient fortress from which it takes its name, Bamburgh Castle Golf Club is often referred to as the most picturesque in England with stunning views around the county. Whilst not long, it is a fine test of golf for all that play it.
Berwick Upon Tweed Golf Club (Goswick)- James Braid designed, Goswick is a classic links championship golf course. Recognised by the R&A as a qualifying course for the British Open.

Bamburgh Castle Golf Club - (01668) 214378 - Bamburgh has to be one of the most picturesque golf courses in the country and offers some challenging golf on its undulating coastal course.
Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club - situated in the village of Embleton immediately adjacent to the sweeping Embleton Bay and with its course running right under the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle again another spectacularly situated course.
Goswick Golf Course - (01289) 387 256 . Located at Beal, just south of Berwick, Goswick is a high quality classic links course.
Magdalene Fields - Berwick - 01289 306130 - 18 hole parkland course.
Alnmouth (Foxton) - 01665 830231 - overlooks the splendours of both Foxton and Alnmouth Bay on the Northumberland coastline in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The course is a fine test of golf , 6525 yards long, par 71 for the men, 5752 yards, par 74 for the ladies and has hosted National and County events. Its subtle difficulties are offset by the wonderful variety of scenery, ranging from seashore to headland, with a breathtaking, panoramic view from the 15th green over many miles of the Northumberland coastline. The course is rich in wildlife and is always a joy to play. Buggies are available for hire to enhance your enjoyment.
Rothbury Golf Course - 01669 621271 - now 18 holes - The par for the course is 71 (Gents) and 72 (Ladies) and a total yardage of 6160.
Seahouses Golf Course - 01665 720794 boasting 2 of the best par 3 holes in the North of England.
