A holiday escape for a couple or small family, this generously sized stone house is perfectly placed for days out enjoying the beautiful scenery and stunning coastline of Northumberland. The causeway that takes you (at low tide) across to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is only 2 miles away – don’t miss the chance to visit this fascinating destination, with its ruined priory, castle, beach walks and selection of pubs, cafes and gift shops. Walkers will find scenic routes galore in the whole area, while fans of golf can play a round at Goswick or Bamburgh, both within 12 miles. Take your pick of magnificent, ruined castles to visit, including Etal, just 10 miles. Unspoilt Cocklawburn Beach is just 8 miles away, a wonderful spot for long walks. For a day of shopping and trying out pubs, cafes and restaurants, Berwick-upon-Tweed is just 8.5 miles, while beautiful Bamburgh is 11 miles.

Decorated in a palette of beautifully muted colours, this fabulous cottage has a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Kick off sandy boots in the porch, then head into the elegant lounge, where comfortable sofas, a crackling wood burner and a Smart TV await – perfect for relaxing evenings together. The airy kitchen/diner is equipped with everything needed for cooking up Northumberland feasts, while the wooden table in the centre of the room is perfect for enjoying shared meals as you plan the next day’s adventures. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility room with a washer/dryer and a separate WC. Upstairs await two inviting, restful bedrooms – a master king-size room and a cosy twin bedroom. Serving the bedrooms and completing the interior are a well-appointed family bathroom, with a spacious, corner bath and a separate shower room.

From the back door, you can step down into the garden and relax in the sunshine. The space is fully enclosed so that children can play safely while you eat and drink on the furnished gravelled area and enjoy the views of Lindisfarne Castle on a clear day. You’ll also have access from this garden to further shared gardens, where you’ll find bespoke seating and a fire pit. This property offers private parking for two cars. There is some passing road noise, it’s modest and easily forgotten once you’re settled in. For larger groups, there are three other bookable properties on site.
