Lindisfarne Lodge is a beautifully finished, generously sized stone cottage, ideal for a couple or small family looking to explore Northumberland’s spectacular coast and countryside. The tidal causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is just a short drive away, making this the perfect base for day trips to one of the region’s most iconic spots — a magical place of windswept beaches, a ruined priory, historic castle, and charming cafes. Unspoilt Cocklawburn Beach is also nearby, offering space for peaceful walks and paddling. Golfers will find scenic courses at Goswick and Bamburgh, while the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is just a short drive away, full of independent shops, riverside strolls, and inviting places to eat. The surrounding area is rich in castles, walking routes and wild seascapes, with Etal, Bamburgh, and Seahouses all within easy reach.

Kick off sandy boots in the porch before stepping into the elegant lounge — a calm and welcoming space with comfortable sofas, a wood burner for chilly evenings, and a Smart TV for relaxed nights in. The spacious kitchen/diner is well-equipped for cooking up holiday meals, with a large table in the centre for leisurely breakfasts or dinners together. There’s also a separate utility room with washing machine and dryer, plus a convenient downstairs WC. Upstairs, you’ll find two thoughtfully styled bedrooms: a generous king-size room and a comfortable twin, both designed with a gentle, restful palette. A family bathroom with a large corner bath sits alongside a separate shower room, offering flexibility for couples or families.

Outside, a private enclosed garden offers a lovely spot for al fresco drinks or simply relaxing in the sunshine. You may even catch a glimpse of Lindisfarne Castle on a clear day. From here, you can also access a larger, shared garden with peaceful seating areas, wildflower planting, and a fire pit for toasting marshmallows as the sun sets. There’s private off-road parking for two cars and access to a shared EV charging point.

Please note there may be some passing road noise due to the property’s convenient location, though it tends to fade into the background once you’re settled in. For larger groups, three other properties are also available to book on site.

The lodge is lovely, even being on A1 theres no real noise. Lovely interior with a wood burner in the lounge to make it nice and warm. The rest of the house was immaculate and well furnished. Bedrooms are huge. Separate bathroom and shower room. Huge garden for the dogs and incorporated safe off road parking. Would say A++++++++

Excellent cottage for a break and had a really relaxing few days. Dogs loved the self contained garden which is big enough even for them to potter around it without using the extended shared area which is fantastic for them. People have commented on the traffic and it really isn't an issue at all and could hardly be heard even at the busiest timesRead more and certainly wouldn't be heard above a conversation or watching the TV. Lovely place and gives access to so many areas to visit. Owners have put a good amount of thought into the place and it is really well maintained and clean. Intend to return. Hide

We had a wonderful stay at Lindisfarne Lodge, plenty of space for all of us. The secure garden was excellent for the dogs. Do not be put off by the lodge being beside the main road as its set back on a filter road and very well insulated and sound proofed. Beautiful wood burner kept the lounge nice and toasty. Just a few minutes drive to Holy Island and ideal base to visit other areas. Wouldnt hesitate to book again. Hide

Lovely warm and comfortable cottage. Good secure outside space for dogs to exercise. Extra dog towels much appreciated. Next to pleasant pub and Lindisfarne. Although on A1 the road is single lane and traffic not travelling at great speed.

Great place to stay clean and tidy set between a great pub and a garage with a well stocked shop, every thing catered for both humans and especially our three collies. We have just returned from a lovely week away in Lindisfarne Lodge and couldn't have chosen any better, anywhere in the country. Spotless and spacious lodge with completely enclosed garden, as needed for my 4 pups. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Pups settled straight away. So many places to see and beaches to walk along closRead moree by. I could have just swapped my house for this one. Only downside for me was my car breaking down and having to leave early which was disappointing for me, obviously, nothing to do with the lodge. Lindisfarne Lodge was perfect for us as a family and for the dog too. It is in a prime location both for visiting interesting places along the coast and for superb dog walks. We hope to return as a week wasn't long enough to see all of the places we planned to visit.

The property was well equipped and very relaxing to stay at with the dogs. The mud room is a brilliant addition, which came into it's own for washing down sandy and salty dogs, and would be a huge benefit in the winter months to clean off mud from dogs and shoes/boots.
