Self-catering holidays in Wangford

Surrounded by countryside, close to Southwold and on the edge of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB, Wangford is a well-connected holiday location. The main London to Lowestoft road passes north of this pretty village, making it an ideal base for those who wish to venture further afield, but book a self-catering cottage in Wangford and you’ll find plenty to enjoy on the doorstep, including a historic church, two friendly pubs, a convenience store and farm shop. With the addition of a children’s playground, access to the National Cycle Network and nearby Reydon Wood Nature Reserve – wonderful for walks with the dog – Wangford is a fine choice for a holiday the whole family will enjoy.

Pretty country cottages and handsome family homes line Wangford’s village streets while just 3 miles away, elegant Southwold has an iconic pier, beach hut-backed promenade, bustling harbour and upmarket town centre. On the opposite bank of the River Blyth, Walberswick brims with character – ride the historic foot ferry between the two. No holiday here is complete without a walk around Dunwich, a little further down the coast – known as Suffolk’s Atlantis, it has a huge beach and beautiful heathland. Complementing the Suffolk Heritage Coast, this northern part of the county is also a gateway to the Broads National Park; hire a day boat at Oulton Broad to discover some of its stunning scenery, or visit nearby Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve – dog-friendly, it has a fabulous cafe and children’s play area. Our collection of Wangford accommodation allows you to enjoy all this, and more – choose your next holiday cottage now!
