The Cottage is attached to the back of Poplar Hall. It is cosy, but not at all cramped. There is a lovely garden next to a field, surrounded by trees, shrubs and flowers, with a garden seat, a patio and patio furniture and a bird feeder to attract numerous birds of all different varieties. The garden is not overlooked. The bedroom upstairs is a goRead moreod size, with a very comfortable double bed, ample windows for light and breeze, a closet for hanging clothes, a dressing table with 3 large drawers, two bedside tables with 3 drawers each, a chair, a laundry bin, a free-standing mirror and a hairdryer. The bigger window overlooks the garden. Downstairs is a modern bathroom with toilet, hand-basin and shower - towels and toilet rolls are provided. The living room/kitchen is a reasonable size, with a small fridge/freezer, a compact cooker with an oven, a grill and 4 rings on the hob, there is a microwave oven and ample cupboard space, with crockery, glassware, cutlery in drawers and cooking equipment, such as pots and pans, etc. There is a settee and chair in the living room area, a television and television table with cupboard space underneath and a bookcase with local information, books and some games. There is an under-stairs cupboard with cushions for the outside chairs, an ironing board and iron and a brush and dustpan and brush. The setter and chair are comfortable. Attached to the property is a conservatory, which contains a settee, small table and 2 chairs, with a view over the patio and garden and you can see the birds and the squirrels feeding at the bird feeder just outside. Again, the settee is very comfortable. Outside the front door of Poplar Hall is parking for one car, parked with the owner's cars. The owner provided directions to Poplar Hall and these are very accurate, travelling along a single track road for approximately half a mile in either direction before getting to a more main road. The Cottage is quiet, apart from the sound of the birds and is away from all the hustle and bustle of the world, yet you can easily reach tourist sites with your car. We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing two week holiday. The owner, Anna, was very nice and very helpful and we had many interesting chats with her. Her son and daughter-in-law live next door and are also very nice and very accommodating. We would certainly recommend The Cottage. Hide

This property has a fine location and is not expensive. However it could do with some updating.

Peaceful location. Lots of wildlife in garden, especially squirrels. Just two pigeons who constantly fought. But amusing to watch NB - instructions say turn off A12 at signs for South Cove. Sign no longer there.

Comfortable accommodation. The bed was very comfortable. A little bit off the beaten track as there was about a mile on single track road approaching from either end. Fortunately we only encountered a couple of vehicles during the week. Would have preferred a little more local information ie where the supermarkets were and recommendations as toRead more a good restaurant etc. Hide

Great location in absolutely blissfully peaceful area but near enough to Southwold and local pubs to eat. Very comfortable bed and accommodation. For two people and a small dog, was a wonderful week, helped by the fantastic weather. Large private garden overlooking fields. Owners were very helpful and looked after us.
