Cottages in Snape

A village of outstanding natural beauty and rich in history, Snape is well known for being home to Aldeburgh Music and the cornucopia of shops at Snape Maltings.

Nestled a few miles inland, at the end of the Alde Estuary and surrounded by miles of idyllic countryside, golden reedbeds and a gentle river; Snape is an ideal location for walkers, birdwatchers and photographers. Snape Maltings provides plenty of retail therapy for any discerning shopper, whilst Aldeburgh Music puts on regular concerts and recitals.

Snape offers an ideal base for exploring the Suffolk Coast. The Victorian seaside town of Southwold delivers colourful beach huts, fine dining, great pubs and is also home to the Adnams brewery and distillery. Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Framlingham are all close by, offering a medley of activities from historical charm and intrigue to wide open beaches and award-winning fish and chips! And for a dose of the really wild, then exploring RSPB Minsmere is very accessible and offers acres of outdoor adventure.

The village of Snape is steeped in history dating back 2,000 years and was once the favourite home of Benjamin Britten, one of Britain's most celebrated composers. A stroll around Snape Maltings will offer an array of art galleries, shops, food halls and pubs serving great food in the heart of the village. If you enjoy a walk then why not try the highly recommended picturesque trail along the Alde River and Sailor’s Path to the seaside town of Aldeburgh.
